I don't know about everyone else but I really love good musicals...good music, constumes and performers, storyline and you can't really go wrong.

My particular favourite would have to be Cabaret, Hairspray (on stage this is) and Cats :yayness:

I'd really like to know what everyone else thinks and if there's any musicals you really like or really hate.

Sometimes I like musicals. It really depends on my mood and what kind of musical it is, I tend to prefer comedies over most anything else.

And I would have to say that All Shook Up is my favorite musical. I don't know if anyone else has seen it, but it's just hilarious. It's supposed to be based on the Shakespeare play called Twelfth Night and it uses Elvis Presley songs.

I also like the 1954 musical for Peter Pan, I saw it numerous times as a kid because we had it on tape. It was pretty awesome...except for the fact that Tiger Lily was played by a white blond girl.

Other than that, though, I can't really recall any more musicals that I particularly liked or any that I hated.

I'm addicted to Broadway shows. Tickets are massively expensive, so i don't get to go all that often. But my faves that I've seen on stage would have to be Phantom of the Opera and The Sound of Music. I've seen several more, but those 2 are the ones I remember best. I don't think I really hate any of the ones I've seen, or heard about. The whole combination of song and dance mixed with a plot draws me in, regardless of anything else.

I want to see Wicked so bad! I read the book and absolutely loved it.

My high school drama club did Once Upon A Mattress when i was a senior. It was cute.

I have recently fallen in love with another one of Mr. Andrew Lloyd Webber's masterpiece of a creation, Evita.
Antonio Banderas and Maddona star in the movie and I am dreaming of the day when I can afford to see the stage production.
Past favorites include:
Phantom of the Opera
Beauty and the Beast
Wicked
South Pacific
Sound of Music
et al.

My school just finished a production of Thoroughly Modern Millie which was absolutely phenominal! I can't wait til next year I'm in Drama and we put on South Pacific.
But currently, my attention is recieved to Evita, a musical based on the life of Eva Peron, first lady of Argentina. It's one of those things where I listen to the album for weeks and hours on end til I get so sick of it, I can't listen to anything related to it for like 3 years...it's a really silly cycle but it works for me. ^^
