I wanted to be just like you,
So perfect, so untouchable.
Now you want me to be with you,
Someone who used to have it all.
Do you remember now?!
You acted like you never noticed me.

Its not bad, definately much better than my forays into anime drawing.

I think you managed to get the facial proportions better in the first picture. In the second, the jaw area is too large, giving her a more manly look. Remember to take your time and not to rush, its better to spend the time correcting these things :)

What sort of shading style are you considering? I personally just prefer doing the normal smoother shade with a little smudging. You'll want to play around with that a bit. I'd suggest trying some different things first, like stippling(dots), scribbles, etc. I thought it was fun back in school to try new shader techniques and I once stippled an entire portion of a picture I was doing.

Thanks, Kitty. I've been working on Naruto anime, and they really simplify their shading, which is easier for a learning artist. For shading I use the side of the pencil that is worn down, giving the mark a lighter look. Whenever it gets too dark I use my eraser and lightly brush it. It smudges slightly but it looks more shaded. Thanks for the time on the jaw too.
