The Cure will headline the first night on the Green Stage

The Cure, Groove Armada and Jarvis Cocker are among the acts lining up to play the opening night of the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan.
The three day event, which first took place in 1997, is being held at the Naeba Skii Resort in Niigata.

Artists from Japan and around the world will perform on seven stages, with more than 100,000 people due to attend.

Other acts due to play over the weekend include the Beastie Boys, the Chemical Brothers and Muse.

The first ever Fuji festival in 1997 was halted halfway through a performance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers because of a typhoon.

The one-day event was expanded to a weekend festival in 1999.

That year, the main arenas were launched, including the Green stage, the White stage, the Field of Heaven, the Dance Tent and the Rookie Stage.

100,000 people attending. Should be quite a heavy audience. Hope they have a good one. I thought Jarvis Cocker was finished though.
