You've never played PS1 have you? Dx9 games are miles away from PS1 and the recent dx9 games are much better looking then games for the original Xbox, PS2, and GC. You see many water reflections in PS1 games? The DX10 version though is miles away from anything though. This is when PC games start to surpass console games in graphics once again like it happens every console generation. |

What is this Direct X 9 / 10? I've never actually heard of it so if you could give me a brief summary of what it is then it would be greatly appreciated.

DirectX is a collection of APIs for easily handling tasks related to game programming on the Microsoft Windows operating system. It is most widely used in the development of computer games for Microsoft Windows. The DirectX SDK is available free from Microsoft. The DirectX runtime was originally redistributed by computer game developers along with their games, but later it was included in Windows. DirectX 9.0c is the latest release version of DirectX. Direct3D 10 Beta is available as of Windows Vista build 5238. The latest versions of DirectX are still usually included with PC games because the API is often updated. |

I must agree and say that the DX9 was not far off from the ps1 but the DX10 shows a large difference
