While Hogwarts' locks the doors to the main gate so their prized wizard-in-training doesn't split for a young 007 flick, EON are still in search of an older counterpart - and having much difficulty.

Are they nearing closer to a choice though? News today at CommanderBond.net states that Daniel Craig, rumoured for the role of Bond a few months back, might be back in the mix again and he's rumoured to be screentesting for "Casino Royale" director Martin Campbell shortly.

According to the site, the "Layer Cake" and "Tomb Raider" star, who once claimed to have been offered the role by the studio (MGM) but not the decision-makers (EON), may be under serious consideration. He's always been a potential for the role - but things seem to have heated up.

Personally, I don't like the idea of Craig - as good an actor as he may be - as Bond. It's a worse fit than small feet in Size-12 shoes.

Meantime, former 007 Pierce Brosnan once-and-for-all debunked rumours that he might be returning to the role he was prematurely cut from.

"I won't be part of the next James Bond. I've already played the role five times and the character is now part of my past", Brosnan said at a press conference, says EcranLarge.com.

Instead, says Brosnan, he'll be back as Thomas Crown in a sequel to the "Affair" remake from a couple of years back.

"Sony Pictures is really thrilled about this whole new affair that we expect to shoot in Istanbul."
