It's Project 880 for James Cameron
Posted on Tue, 14-Jun-2005

He's been quieter than a teenager hiding from a steaming wooden-spoon carrying mother, but looks like we'll be seeing a bit more of Jim Cameron in the next year.

The "Titanic" Director has a few projects on his plate, with the latest just announced.

In addition to "Battle Angel" and "True Lies 2", The former Mr.Linda Hamilton will helm "Project 880", which may or may not be his next project to go.

"Project 880," will, like "Battle Angel", be shot in 3-D with custom-designed high-definition cameras, says The Hollywood Reporter. Cameron also plans to use a photo-real version of the performance capture technology used by Robert Zemeckis on "The Polar Express."

"Battle Angel," based on Yukito Kishiro's 12 popular Japanese graphic novels about a nymphette who morphs into an action heroine, has just had it's script reworked by Cameron.

While Lightstorm would not reveal a final title or story line for the new project it is calling "Project 880," Cameron could decide to film that feature before tackling "Battle Angel," which has proved to be a difficult script to adapt.

Cameron's also got a fourth film set to go. Called "The Dive," it's an underwater adventure based on a Sports Illustrated story about freedivers Francisco Ferreras and his wife Audrey Mestre, who expired while trying to break her own depth record.

The Dive sounds like a good upcoming movie.
