Mr. & Mrs. Smith has topped the UK box office charts in its opening week.

Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Supremacy), the movie stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a married couple who discover that they are assassins with orders to kill each other. It earned £3.9m in its first weekend, beating Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Sin City, which took second and third places.

The UK box office top ten in full:
1. Mr. & Mrs. Smith
2. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
3. Sin City
4. The Pacifier
5. House of Wax
6. Monster-in-Law
7. The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse
8. Millions
9. Parineeta
10. Kingdom of Heaven
