Directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, who recently worked together on Sin City, are to team up once again for a new horror film.![]() Tarantino's last film was Kill Bill Volume 2 The pair will each write and direct an hour-long feature for Grind House, which will be released in early 2006. It will be one of the first releases from a new company set up by Harvey and Bob Weinstein, who founded Miramax. Tarantino and Rodriguez have worked together on several other projects, including From Dusk Till Dawn. Hit Franchises "We couldn't imagine anything more exciting than a film being made together by the two godfathers of our companies, Quentin and Robert," the Weinsteins said in a statement. The brothers founded the new outfit, currently named the Weinstein Company, after announcing in March they would be stepping down as co-chief executives of Miramax. They had been in charge of the Disney-owned film unit for 25 years. During their time at Miramax, the pair produced Oscar winners including The English Patient, Shakespeare In Love and Chicago, as well as hit franchises such as Scream, Scary Movie and Spy Kids. They recently announced a slate of films to be released by the Weinstein Company, including the thriller Derailed, starring Clive Owen, and period drama Mrs Henderson Presents, as well as a sequel to Sin City due for release next summer. "We have said all along that we would hit the ground running and we are confident that this slate will represent and deliver the kind of movies that audiences will love," the pair said. |
