Is The Simpsons past its prime?I asked myself a couple times in the past few weeks this year.I've been thinking about this because I recently bought some of The Simpsons complete seasons and greatest hits DVDs and there were many great classic episodes on those.I mean there was the one where Homer jumps the springfield gorge that's just classic, the one where Homer makes a time machine out of a toaster, and many more episodes.Recently I compared some of the greatest and even some good Simpsons episodes.I compared them to the stuff where Homer joins these wierd RV people and they camp out in his yard, the one where Homer goes to prison and becomes a snitch. These episodes just don't offer the excitment and aren't as exciting as they used to be.The last great Simpsons episode to date was Treehouse of Horror 14 which aired on November 1st,2003.That episode had tons of laughs, excitment, and great concepts. The Simpsons just isn't as funny latley and hasn't been as exciting. The current episodes no body will point at those and say "That was a trully great episde". This whole thing is coming from a guy who is a die hard Simpons fan and has seen every single episode. What are your thoughts???Do you agree???Do you disagree??? |

I agree with you Abyss. Every show changes and have their ups & downs, but they are still great! Hey, Simpsons have been on 16+ years now. That is a huge accomplishment. How many shows can say that??? And the Simpsons don't show any signs of slowing down, as the ratings are still good. The great Simpsons are expected to be around for sometime now...including films in the future..... |

Sure, there have been many episodes and we have all seen many of them over the years. But, personally....I can never get tired of the show. Its just excellent stuff and one of a kind. |

What does it look like?
|
Yes the Simpsons are doing great. But, the new Episodes of "The Family Guy" may have some competion for it. The Family Guy was at a dead end but then when Adult Swim(on Cartoon Network) adopted it the ratings when through the roof. So they decided to make some new Epiodes. But I like both. They'll live on. |

Love watching the Simpsons! But I couldn't watch a whole marathon of it, to be honest. The Family Guy is funny as well.

The Simpsons is still on its way up. the 350th episode that aired last sunday was hilarious. Ray Ramano was indeed one of the best guest stars in a while. i love the classic scene in the episode: *they are in a Home Depot like store* Ray: Look, I just came down with a case of shingles. Homer: *laughs*...whats in the box? |

You don't under the point of this topic. The point is not that The Simpsons time is limited or it's gonna end soon the point is that The Simpsons is not as good as it was back in the day in the mid '90s.Understand the topics before you critize them. |

The Simpson’s are classic, unique and very funny some episodes. The one I practically like is the one where Homer becomes an animated character in the 'itchy & scratchy show' as a dog and the director of the show edits him out budegtly. what was he's name, Poochy lol and the one where Bart stars Homer in he's comic strip as 'Angry Dad' and Bart makes a trap for him where he falls in the pool full of green paint, he gets up and walks around Springfield like the Hulk, HOMER MAD, HOMER SMASH' wicked man. Only thing I would say is Sky one and Channel 4 always show repeats of the same one. All in all thou, funny stuff Matt
