Hmmm. That training exercise being done by the SAF trainees is just similar to what I experienced in ROTC! Type ko yun helicopter spin among those.
Command is about authority, about appointment to a position. Effective leadership is different. It must be learned and practiced in order for it to rise to the level of art. You must love those you lead before you can be an effective leader. You can certainly command without that sense of commitment but you cannot lead without it; and without leadership, command is a hollow experience. .. a vacuum often filled with mistrust and ignorance.

"Bro, the Tiger Stripes were used in Vietnam by the U.S. Special Forces and some of it's allies and as I understand it's an obsolete design and no longer adapted by their armed forces. However, I think some Asian countries are still using it since it is quite correct for our tropical environment that's full of talahibs. But for the Philippines, I think the SWAGs are the official users of this pattern. Any comments guys?"

The US army alreadu is fielding their Army Combat Uniforms, which are pixelized. The USAF is also developing a new uniform, and believe it or not its a Tiger-Stripe pattern. This color pattern was hated and ....

..and the USAF modified the design to incorporate a pixelized design, and changed the color, while still keeping the tiger stripe patters and came up with this.

Regional Mobile Group-LaUnion/Pangasinan area has something similar, its all blue, even the hats and boonies they wear. Prevalant  PNP colors seem to have blue with some type of red/maroon color uniforms.

howdy,

i apologize if this is continues to be off-topic from the SAF weapons. but just to clarify, the blue cammies are generally in use by PNP regional mobile groups and are not SWAT or any other special unit? i've seen pics of them usually with some form of M4 or M16 rifle in a tactical situation, either as close-in perimeter or entry team.

thanks,

howdy,

i'm trying to compile as many pics of PNP BDU camouflage patterns as possible, including SAF and regional mobile groups. i've searched the PNP site, mp.net, gettyimages, corbis, yahoo and google with fairly limited results. if anybody has pics or links i would greatly appreciate if you post a reply here or PM me direct.

also, here's a question for anybody that might know. i've seen PNP and AFP units blouse their BDU pants into their boots, as well as tying it off just under the knees. is this just a military tradition stemming from using leggings or gaiters back in WW2? it looks top notch and is fairly unique among asian police and military units.

example pic

if anybody could ID the unit in the pic i'd appreciate it as well! :thumb:

thanks,
onimk
