Since you join to interact with Filipinos thru this medium, I suggest you avail yourself a handbook of the English-Filipino dictionary that can be availed from the Philippine consulate in Singapore or thru the Philippine Tourism Office if nothing can be found at your bookstores. :thumb: |

Hey, i've seen "Special Forces - Airborne" guys wearing the Tiger Stripes on TV? So, the Tiger Stripes cammie isnt exclusive to the Navy SWAG now? |

Bro, the Tiger Stripes were used in Vietnam by the U.S. Special Forces and some of it's allies and as I understand it's an obsolete design and no longer adapted by their armed forces. However, I think some Asian countries are still using it since it is quite correct for our tropical environment that's full of talahibs. But for the Philippines, I think the SWAGs are the official users of this pattern. Any comments guys? |

just a question....who designs the cammies of the AFP? do they have a separate department designing and studying the properties and characteristics of a good combat uniform, including camouflage? it seems doubtful since the resulting designs seem purely for aesthetic effects. i bet students of CT in UP dil can beat them in creating a good combat uniform. :aberet:

Saver111: Anybody got a photo of the Coast Guard's cammie? That's worst! It's a desert tan with orange combi. Don't know how they arrive in such? Nearest I could associate the shades is if one of them fell on an aquarium or pond in a Japanese garden. That fellow would look like an oversized carp! ABBeret.gif The old SAF cammie is quite right for me. I dont know if this will show but this is from Opus's site. if it doesnt click here ![]() Looks like they PCG, literally took to the word "coast". Looks great---for fighting in coastal beaches and dessert sands. |

That look's more of a better shade. Don't know if those guys I saw were using official shades? But still, a desert pattern? |

Regional Mobile Group-LaUnion/Pangasinan area has something similar, its all blue, even the hats and boonies they wear. Prevalant PNP colors seem to have blue with some type of red/maroon color uniforms. ![]() ---our own PNP in Iraq --again PNP in IraqRapidfire: "I think its better for our cops to change their BDUs to solid blue instead of the current cheesy blue camo pattern, lookee here Italian cops in Iraq in solid dark blue uniforms:" ---but many of the PNP with paramilitary duties, like SAF, RMG, coduct operations in the countryside where there is alot of green and vegetation. Kind of like the old Constabulary khakis better.. Some PNP-SAF still uses the Khakis, probably trainees however. ![]() --dunno if these guys are SAF. These 2 below are from the SAF website ![]()
