Kind of ironic that Izumo was also the name of a major Imperial Japanese Navy armoured cruiser that spent a lot of time in Chinese waters during the 1937-1945 Japanese war against China. That old Izumo also destroyed the British gunboat HMS Petrel in Shanghai in December 1941 when the Pacific War front of World War II began. By sending the Izumo's current namesake, perhaps Tokyo is sending a message to China? Interaksyon
