Chinese frigate runs aground in Half Moon Shoal

The timing shows this was aimed at Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration. The press release from the embassy read "Half Moon Shoal in the Nansha Islands". The danger's they're setting up an ambush and plan to start shooting as soon as PF15 shows up. "Naku, we were trying to save our damaged vessel and its 200 crewmen and here comes your navy invading OUR territory. So sorry we sunk your American-supplied frigate by accident."

The whole world is laughing at the Philippines. Weeks and weeks of rhetoric and it takes an Australian newspaper to break the news two days after it happened. The government's muted response makes this embarassing for us not the other way around.

Dare they attack us or our assets directly, and they are going to be the aggressors of the Next war in the Pacific.

before world war 2, the semi-independent commonwealth of the philippines had its own budget and could have allocated much more money for defense but president quezon refused because he did not believe war would happen. large-scale mobilization of the philippine army did not happen until 1940 only a year before invasion of the philippines.

:lollol:

God helps those who help themselves !!!

Well.....China claims that the Bai Yue reef (Half Moon Shoal), where the frigate went aground, belongs to China. Of cousre, Philipine claims it's theirs. No judgement yet. And EEZ is different from territory water.

Philippines willing to assist stuck Chinese ship

By Norman Bordadora

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines is closely watching what China will do to rescue one of its frigates that has run aground on a reef 111 kilometers away from Palawan, Malacañang said on Saturday.

Abigail Valte, a spokesperson for President Benigno Aquino, said also that a diplomatic protest was something the Department of Foreign Affairs will have to consider with respect to the

Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s naval ship No. 560 getting stuck at the Hasa-hasa Shoal, also known as the Half Moon Shoal.

“If assistance is required then we are duty-bound to render it. Dispute or no dispute we will render assistance—if it’s needed. Allow me to make that clarification because I did see a report from the Chinese embassy saying that the rescue from their side is underway,” Valte said over state-run radio dzRB.

Asked if the Philippines would make sure that the Chinese frigate is removed from the Hasa-hasa Shoal, Valte said, “We will be monitoring the progress of the rescue.”

Valte said the situation was already being dealt with at the moment but added she could not reveal details of the Philippine government’s response at this time.

“What we can say is that if assistance is required, we will render it. It seems, to my knowledge, assistance has not been asked for but it will be given if it is,” Valte said.

Asked whether the government would file another diplomatic protest over the most recent incident, Valte said, “That is something that would have to be considered by the Department of Foreign Affairs.”

would it be possible for us to assert our sovereignty over the area where the Dongguan ran aground by sending PCG vessels there; and sending a memo to the Politburo in Beijing, via its embassy in Manila, that it should first seek approval of the Philippine Government before any "rescue mission" by the Chinese can be held and that it the "rescue mission" should be led by our people and not by the Chinese?

From what I understand there should be a protocol for this but it seems China has no respect for Philippines.

First they entered into our territory, next they made a mess and last they dont even show courtesy call. You cannot just send your salvage ship to tow your Frigate.

Eto naman gobyerno natin walang ibang masabi kundi "we will investigate". Or baka naman another news blackout ulit. Kungdi pa lumabas sa media from Aust hindi pa natin malalaman.

Phil Navy, Phil Coastguard... konting pukpok naman dyan sa inyo.

Don't keep your hopes up Sir Israeli, they are already claiming that Half Moon shoal is part of their territorial waters, that the incident happened during their routine Patrol in the area while it's technically Philippine Mainland territorial waters...

Baka nga hindi pa tayo palapitin doon siguro sa warship nila..?

Should be gray to gray in my opinion, considering the incident area's proximity from Palawan and pretty sure matatanaw mo ito from Rizal or Quezon Area in Palawan.

This calls for a serious National Security concern for we currently have a situation with them in Panatag Shoal, Bolinao incident etc.
