whats the point of asking another hamilton class cutter costing $15 mil (correct me if im wrong) with an armament of a naval gun, cwis (if possible), buhmaster cannons. we can get a vietnamese TT-400TP class armed with a 1 x 76.2mm AK-176 main gun, 1 x 30mm AK-630 cwis for just $1 mil, so 1 hamilton costing $15 mil is equivalent to 15 TT-400TP class only costing $1 mil with similar weapons.
its better to get the TT-400TP class and save up money to procure more maestral and soldati class both missile capable. (as i said on the other post, and im also not against the hamilton class cutters im just thinking a more cost effective plan)

Thailand also has the capability to make their own ships at a much lower price.

We should have this capability in the near future as well but of course that means a State-owned (via PPP) corporation for military ship-building. There's really no way the Gov't can't be a part-owner or leave it solely to private companies w/o sacrificing some quality (for profit) and possibility of leakage.

Thailand can now build their own OPVs with help from a British shipbuilder.

If my memory serves me right, Thailand was able to build the OPVs at $54M each (not including weapons system)

And you are absolutely right about the price, $1 million does not include weapons and our government had invested a lot of money in Hong Ha shipyard to build those TT-400TP. I'll continue with our navy vessels.

$1 million for the hull is still cheap, the Tagbanua cost the government $4 million and it is about the size of this Vietnamese patrol craft.

They must have really cheap labor.
