this is one of the mismangement of the Marcos administration, that I do not agree on, starving trainees and depriving them of decent billeting and pay for a very dangerous mission that could have got back Sabah, is a very important mission, is just a slave type of operation and mentality still reminiscent to our culture that needs to change (exploitation of kapwa Filipino to save money and screw you up. this is still happening today even here in America by Filipino owned businesses paying cheap wages. Jibin Arula should hire someone to write a book on this and he will be a millionaire overnight.

Sad to say, he passed away a couple of years ago

Lone survivor of Jabidah Massacre dies in vehicular accident

In one of those interviews, he has these to say

Quote:

Arula says if he had not lived to tell his story, the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) which reckons its founding date to March 18, 1968, would not have been set up and there would have been no  200,000 or so deaths in the years the MNLF fought.

“I am not an important person but I remember this conflict originated from that [Jabidah] case so they might see from Davao to Cotabato that I am still alive, that I am with them to ask help. What I want, in my age, is that even if die, there would be no more conflict in Mindanao,” Arula said.

Taps for Jibin Arula. although a trainee still a member of the Jabidah commandos. I still think a movie or book be made about him on whatever is left known and the proceeds be given to his surviving children and wife if still alive.

Uso pa yung ganito noon. Remember JFK and the Bay of Pigs fiasco? The CIA trained Cuban emigres so they could re-capture Cuba from Fidel Castro but at the same time deny they had any involvement in the effort. The US military could then intervene when the job was done and say free Cubans had requested US help to recognize their new country. Well, it didn't work out that way. Castro had advance warning somehow this was going to happen - maybe a spy within the "free Cubans" being trained by the CIA - and was able to trap the invasion force as soon as they landed - in the Bay of Pigs.

Also, the CIA was involved in a plot to overthrow Sukarno of Indonesia using disgruntled army officers - and using the same m.o. as the Bay of Pigs earlier in 1957. But that's a different story.
