Military warned against ‘rising influence’ of communists in government THURSDAY, 01 MARCH 2012 21:02 ZAFF SOLMERIN / CORRESPONDENT AN anti-communist legislator on Thursday challenged the military leadership not to become complacent about the alleged rising influence of communists in the government. “The military should wake up because what happened in Nepal might happen in this country,” Party-list Rep. Pastor Alcover of the Alliance for Nationalism and Democracy (Anad) said. Alcover believes that sticking to his belief that Jose Maria Sison, also known as Joma and founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), and his allies in the legislative branches and key positions in government are already consolidating power. According to Alcover, a Nepal-style takeover is already being cooked up by Joma and his allies in the government and that could lead to the ouster of President Aquino. “Nepal’s parliament has been taken over by Maoist communists that ordered the integration of the rebels into that country’s armed forces and the Army chief was kicked out. So, [in our case] the military should wake up, wake up, wake up. Hindi puwede ’yung mga generals na sipsip na lamang ng sipsip,” he said. Alcover appealed to Mr. Aquino to be wary of Sison’s plan to bring the Nepal experience into his administration. “He [Aquino] should wake up because he who rides a tiger will be eaten by the tiger. Communists are against landlords and Aquino is representing the landlord class. He doesn’t know his enemy, even its strength,” he warned. <snipped> Meanwhile, military sources said leaders of the reaffirmist and rejectionist groups of the CPP met abroad to discuss their planned coalition with the Liberal Party, the political bandwagon of the President. “I have received information about that but it was not in South Korea, it was held in Malaysia and this happened before Christmas last year. The problem is I cannot confirm it but the information I received was that it was attended by Luis Jalandoni and the other side was represented by Ronald Llamas and Teresita Quintos-Deles. They talked about a temporary alliance,” Alcover said. Llamas is the President’s political adviser while Deles is the chief of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process. The lawmaker feared the “alliance” could lead to “cleansing” in the government. He said that the “alliance” is using and riding with the Liberal Party and when cleansing comes “Aquino is not an exception.” “Definitely, Aquino will be kicked out…their target is 2013. One of their strategies is to force Aquino to insert Party-list Rep. Teddy Casiño of Bayan Muna on the Liberal Party’s senatorial slate,” he said. |

Llamas, De Lima Joma’s conduits by Florante S. Solmerin Manila Standard Today March 1, 2012 AT LEAST four members of President Benigno Aquino III’s Cabinet are negotiating to convince Jose Maria Sison, the founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines, to join the Aquino administration for national unification, the spokesman of an anti-communist group said Wednesday. “You know, if you received our previous press releases, in fact we mentioned about several people in Malacañang, particularly Ronald Llamas, Jing Deles and Alex Padilla,” said Joey Sison, spokesman of the Alliance for Nationalism and Democracy that’s being led by Rep. Pastor Alcover, a former rebel. Llamas on Wednesday denied the group’s claim. “There is no specific negotiation to bring back Joma [Sison],” he said. “The talks are toward a possible political settlement.” Llamas is Mr. Aquino’s political adviser and Teresita Quintos-Deles is head of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process. Padilla is the government’s chief negotiator in its peace talks with the communist National Democratic Front, the group negotiating for the Communist Party of the Philippines and its military arm, the New People’s Army. A highly placed Palace source said the Aquino administration was indeed in talks with the CPP for Joma’s return from exile in Utretch. But intelligence reports had it that Joma managed to slip in through the Clark International Airport onboard a Hongkong flight last January 20 using the alias “Renato Malaya” on his travel document. <snipped> “There are several people [whose names] we don’t want to reveal yet because we are checking their connections with the CPP,” Sison, the party-list group spokesman said. He said Justice Secretary Leila de Lima could be one of those negotiating with Joma. “She’s is the first cousin of Julie de Lima,” Sison said, adding that Julie is Joma’s wife. His group claims that the Aquino administration is offering Joma a Cabinet position. “We’re saying that because, you know, if we look back to the case of the Morong 43, the withdrawal of the case against [the suspected communists] was ordered by De Lima,” Sison said. Still, it was President Aquino who ordered the Justice Department to review the case of the 43, who were later released from prison. <snipped> Sison also cited the case of Maria Luisa Porcray, Jaime Soledad and Jovencio Balweg, who were facing criminal charges but were later released after prosecutors withdrew their charges against them. The communists claimed that the three were their peace consultants and therefore could not be arrested. “We believe that the Justice Department was behind the withdrawal of the charges against them,” Sison said. He said the same thing could happened to the case of Alan Jazmines and Tirzo Alcantara, two ranking CPP leaders who are now detained in Camp Crame and in the Army’s headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. Sison said Joma could be somewhere in the Philippines. “Yes, with all probability because the audio was very clear like a local one,” he said, citing a radio interview of Joma who denied he was here. |

its time to change our mindset regarding the Communist insurgency or CPP, if they are willing to join and help solve improve the economic and honest governance of the country then why not. did it help us to continue fighting them? no, the guerilla just continued. we need to explore all possibilities to end this insurgency so we can focus to the other insurgency which is the moro insurgency. Being stubborn and ignoring these possible peace and unification is an old old school and tunnel vision. Its time for new chapter in the country and that is work out something with our rebel brothers, we do not want anymore bloodshed, we had proven it did not produce any solution but more sufferings and costs in the budget. |

Theres no way this country will ever have any political stability if the elites doesnt stop their greediness and selfishness, while riding in this old ineffective encumbered centralized republic. |

@Hitman and spearhead You will never convince the ground forces of the AFP to unite with the hardcore CPP-NPA-NDF. "We do not want anymore bloodshed..." They have not renounced their violent ways to overthrow the government and the democratic system. They have shown their "sincerity" many times in attacking government forces, infrastructure, the civilian populace and even business establishments. What have you got against the elites spearhead? Those who worked hard to build their business or are very successful in their professions. Seems like you are for the communist proletariat just like you were for the MILF warlord group. Don't bother to answer. I just came to verify the existence of more ducks. The republic is not old or encumbered. It works for the greatest superpower of the western democracies. Defeatist personalities exist in the site. Apologists for the cause of communism are verified. I'll be watching you and your red and jihadist pals. |

Sison is a terrorist and the NPA is a band of criminals preying on weak villagers and extorting business. Sison needs to be executed not coddled. Take out Sison and the next few levels of leadership...it will be some time before any of those pieces of crap decide to stick their head out of the toilet from which they came. Decapitating this snake and rooting out the weeds in our government will make it much easier to deal with the Chicom gutter dogs. |

I feel like this government might apply amnesty to Sison. IF they do, the government then should make Sison as part of their peace agreement, to call the rest of the commies to lay their arms and end their decades of armed struggle. Anyone who opposes it should be branded as bandits and terrorrists only then they should use their own former NPA rebels to crash their old hardcore comrades with the help of the AFP. |

If Sison is going to cooperate and help, he should be welcomed. this will bring down at least half of the strength of the rebel forces. only the hardcore will probably remain and be easily be defeated as long as the economy also improves and more jobs created. |

Cooperate and help? Then what about the word "justice", justice for the people who are massacred, killed, raped, extorted and robbed by the NPAs with his consent and order? |
