There appears to be calls within the Chinese government to punish us with some type of economic measures to punish us for allowing the US to work more closely with us. My guess is they wish to use the "carrot and stick" approach with our elites as our elites are the ones who stand to gain or lose from this..not the common pinoy. My real intent of this post is to get your thoughts on this recent threat by the Chinese because we have allowed the canos more "access". Do you think they will do it? What would you expect they would actually do? What products might be affected? Could we use this with the US economic section in the embassy to start pushing for more of our products to be sold in the USA and displace Chinese products in the us mega retail giants? I personally feel this makes it clear their intent to control us as if they were our masters and we were some vassal state. |
