IT was mentioned in chat that a RFP was to be released and it could be seen via Janes.com

Does anyone have any more information that is not quite so generalized?

RFPs or RFIs are supposed to be available to the taxpaying public. After all, the RFP is a request for defense equipment that will be paid for and maintained for by taxpayer's money.

One example is the RFI of the PN for OPVs. Can you imagine the disgust and bewilderment when it is the FBO, an American govt agency, that broke the details about the PN's RFI instead of the DND or PN ...

Another example is the PN's LCU that was shrouded in secrecy for the longest time. One can understand the secrecy if it was an atomic-powered deep diving, flying LCU armed with laser guns :lollol:

There is a bill in philippine congress for a long time now that allows the public to request information, but it has been ignored.

Here is a list of congressmen who have ignored this bill:

If they pass the bill it could limit the ability of the nations leadership from taking advantage of the bidding process.
