Japan Chief of Maritime Self-Defense Force visits Philippine Navy Headquarters

Roxas Boulevard, Manila – The Philippine Navy yesterday accorded an arrival honor in honor of Admiral Masahiko Sugimoto, Chief of Staff, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and a former Commander in Chief of the Self-Defense Fleet. On the arrival ceremony as host is RADM EDGAR L ABOGADO, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) with CAPT ERICK A KAGAOAN as Troop Commander. Before arriving at the Navy headquarters, Admiral Sugimoto led the wreath laying honors at the Rizal Monument in Luneta Park. During the wreath-laying ceremony, Admiral Sugimoto was accompanied by COMMO GERONIMO L AGANON AFP, Deputy Commander of Naval Sea System Command, the designated military host.

Following the wreath laying, his visit at the Navy headquarters included a presentation of memento and awarding of the honorary Command at Sea Badge. Other activities are the operational briefing by PN operations officer Capt Jorge Amba PN(GSC) that included the plans of the Philippine Navy in joint efforts with the JMSDF.

Top photo is the arrival honors accorded to Admiral Sugimoto; the scond photo shows the wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal monument; the third photo shows FOIC, PN [presenting a memento to Admiral Sugimoto; and the last photo shows the operational briefing for Admiral Sugimoto.

Admiral Sugimoto expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation of the PN’s welcome as well as his admiration for the accomplishments and efforts of the Navy.

These japs must be wondering why the PN has a puny tiny HQ, malamang naaawa sila sa PN. They should help up to coordinate with their government to recommend some jap investors who could lease out that naval base so the philippines can finally build a bigger naval HQ somewhere while developing the old one into some commercial use.
