What exactly are these 7 multipurpose assault sea vessels mentioned in the news below ??? Based on other news, these are apparently the 3 MPACs, 1 LCU and the 3 upgraded Jacinto class(weapon system). what is interesting is what exactly are the upgrades to the Jacinto class ? the possibilities are the following: 1.) The media just reported inaccurately and was actually referring to the machinery upgrades in phase 2, etc 2.) The media was really accurate , and there is really a weapons system upgrade. Question now, is what exactly is this ? weapons mismo ?? or sensors/fire control ?? if they are weapons, missiles ? or larger/better guns ?? U.S. vows second warship for Philippines(Excerpts) By Jim Gomez The Associated Press Nov 17, 2011 MANILA, Philippines - The United States will provide a second warship to the ill-equipped Philippine military as it confronts China in increasingly tense territorial disputes in the South China Sea, a Philippine official said Thursday. The 120,000-strong military said it was awaiting the upgrade of 20 MG520 assault helicopters and delivery of four other combat helicopters, seven multipurpose assault sea vessels and 40 military trucks soon. The army is also acquiring 335 light rocket launchers and 100 81-mm mortars. |

What rocket launchers, javelins? It better be javelins because it can be used to lock on targets against vehicles or aircrafts and even bunkers. |

That AT-4 is a crap. But its better than nothing i guess... I hope next time they would acquire the javelins as it can be reloaded unlike AT-4. Their huge though nd would need a bulky pinoy to carry it. |

I think the AT4s are what we can only afford, with the unit price of around $1,480 USDs vs. the unit price of an FGM-148 Javelin which costs around $125,000 USDs, and about $40,000 for each missile. |

The US donating brand new Mark Vs? Not going to happen. Maybe a purchase of these? Quite possible. |

Although its posible, I dont think RHIBs will be in the 7 vessels mentioned in the report. As I have already said, a review of all the recent news from the various newspapers only mention 3 MPACs, 3 Jacinto class ans 1 LCU. |
