Dapta talaga tuloy tuloy na ito since nahumpisahan narin nila. Lessons learned from the past so make sure not to leave any more rooms for the terrorrists to come back and regroup. Economic developments should be followed in those affected areas with tight security, otherwise it might end up again in a circus life and wasted taxes. |

Déjà vu. I. Flashback Erap's 'all-out' war against the MILF in 2000. AFP claimed they have surrounded the camps, all possible exits blocked by soldiers and Marines. Soldiers overran camps after extensive airstrikes, artillery bombardment and ground assault. Aside from a few enemy dead, most escape including the leadership. Erap ate lechon and drank beer inside a mosque in Camp Abubakar. Now claims his all-out war was a success. II. Flashback AFP's assault on Umbra Kato's breakaway group after Kauswagan raid in 2008. AFP troops overran Kato's main stronghold but Kato managed to escape with most of his fighters. AFP still to kill or capture Kato. III. Present. AFP assaults Waning Abdul-Salam's camp in Zamboanga Sibugay. AFP asserted forces have surrounded the camp, all possible exits blocked. Enemy trapped inside the camp. Soldiers overran camp after aerial bombardment and artillery barrage. Several enemy fighters found dead inside the camp but AFP announced a hundred managed to escape. AFP is claiming Abul-Salam most likely wounded or even dead but could not present the body. But sources say Abdul-Salam's group evacuated the camp long before the AFP overran it: A resident in Payao who has communication lines with the armed group in Sitio Talaib denies military claims of casualties on the part of the “lawless elements” and said “may 16 sugatan lang” (injured). The source, who requested anonymity said the armed group left the area evening of October 25, before the military forces were able to occupy it. http://www.mindanews.com/top-stories/2011/...-zambo-sibugay/ Déjà vu. |

I still trust my own eyes than your unconfirmed tsismis reports... How many bombs can 1 Bronco carry, 4? How many Broncos are sent on sorties on a given mission? 2. 2*4=8, 8 dumb bombs to spread on a jungle hideout. You do the Math. While you're at it, let me quote from FAS on eccuracy of VietnAm era dumb bombs (note that Americans normally employ packs [not just 2s] of fighter bombers on sorties): Bombs for Beginners At the outset of the Vietnam War, tactical aviation pilots were achieving a 750-foot circular error probable (CEP)--the radius from the aim point that half of the bombs dropped will fall within. This number is sufficient for the impact of a tactical nuclear weapon but is far from adequate for conventional weaponry. It took several years for the CEP to be lowered to a manageable 365 feet. [SOURCE] The advantage of guided bombs was revealed when compared with the F-105 s work in Vietnam. The F-105s achieved a circular error probable (CEP) of 447 feet and 5.5 percent direct hits during the end of Rolling Thunder, compared with guided bombs CEP of 23 feet and 48 percent direct hits during the period of February 1972 through February 1973. BTW, you sound like our tactical commanders and Generals. They easily get excited and contented by tsismis of success (mostly misinformation fed by the enemy themselves). They are cocky to declare "victory," whatever that means. They are not accustomed to methodical Bomb Damage Assessment or Operational Asessment. They're incompetents really (my apologies for the term used). |

That's why its important to always maintain the recommended assault force ration of between 10:1. Some sources even say it should be as high as 20:1 so as to comfortably overpower the defending troops. Second, intelligence is very important. Obviously, those bandits were able to get away because our forces did not establish a solid network of intelligence on the ground, that should have penetrated the villages sorrounding their camps. |

a agree on that lagi na lang nakakalusot. if the CCAFP interprets that as unreasonable or deliberately allowed to happen, then some men must be rooted out from the military service. |

Lt. Col. Cabangbang was clearly stymied yesterday when an ANC anchorperson asked him this question "You told us sir that your forces have surrounded Abdulsalam's camp and there are no possible escape routes then why is it that he and his men escaped your dragnet?". After a few seconds, Lt. Col. Cabangbang replied "Aah ummm ma'am, kasi po, when we took over the camp, there are waterways that could be escape routes that we overlooked." Fail. Again.

overlooked? obvious naman na isla yun at ginagamit na nila nuon pa ang waterways. now, we can see how disgusting they plan their actions. either too lazy to do it right or they indeed just let them get away for a price. tsk tsk tsk. unacceptable.

i believe we need to investigate Lt. Col. Cabangbang why the rebels got away. he knew the rebels might use the seas. he could have simply asked the Navy to provide a blockade. if i am his superior, i will relieve him. THIS WILL SEND THE SIGNAL TO ALL THAT WE WILL NOT INTERPRET THEIR EXCUSES AS MERE UNINTENTIONAL FAULTS. THEY WILL NEED TO DEFEND IT FULLY WHY THE FOLLY HAPPENED. if they cant give a believable reason, the AFP needs to replace them. same goes when the same thing mysteriously happens again and again, we need to fire the next higher officer like the Division Commander or the WesMinCom chief. replace them all with better leaders, until we get a good performance from the military. |
