Mabuti pa itong mga bumbay, very impressive. I didn't even know they got Harrier jets.

Arnie,

What are the Indian Navy plans for those Harriers since UK has already mothballed all of its Harriers now? I believe that the US Marines AV-8B has no common parts for your British-acquired Harriers, right?

Any plans to acquire F35 to replace those Harriers?

But if the Indian Navy wants to acquire F35 then I believe you need to reinforce the landing deck of your Aircraft Carrier.

INS Virat and its harriers will be retired within 2-3 years. INS Virat will be replaced by INS Vikramaditya which is going to operate Mig29ks and naval Tejas. Same is the case with our indigenous Vikrant class aircraft carrier. As far as I know there is no plan to buy f-35s because we don't trust Americans enough for such a sensitive defense deal. They always attach lots of strings and we don't like to have a master on our head to take our own decisions. For the higher end Naval aircrafts IMO navy will use the naval version of the winner of MMRCA i.e- rafale or typhoon.
