Nuclear weapons can also enhance our negotiating stance when it comes with our dispute with China. Even a limited number of nukes can easily drive our point with the Chinese leadership.

For me nukes can be a double edge sword, one side for actual use like for deterrence and the other edge for bargaining chips.

If the US has the bomb and China has the bomb so should we.

If we have the mentality of like that, then we are just like the Iranian's, Venezuelan's, and the north Korean's mentality.... dagdag lang sa entropy ng mundo.....

and besides it is not like instant noodles to which the "instant" mentality of the filipinos suites, when developing nuclear capabilities... it is just the same case that we are keep on dreaming on assembling a car, but we find so difficult already in assembling a "cariton" alone..

Ni84,

It's for us really to develop these kind of capabilities including building our own missiles, we were the first to develop and should have been the first Country to have this kind of Capability in Asia during the Marcos time.

Given our current situation and the sky high prices of these Military Weapons and Equipments in the World Market, we should start thinking of investing on making our own similar to what China is doing, but not like a carbon copycat, a much more simplified improved version of a particular project.

The Budget to buy these Future Military Equipments and Weapons is more than enough for us to FUND a particular project that can be a potential Market for us that will create more jobs and income for the Govt. in the future.

But, the first easiest thing for us to do is to built our BASIC EXTERNAL Defences to fill in the GAP's and acquire Original Modern Assets like for our PN, either OHP's, or other cheap modern Missile/ ASW OPV like the Knud Rasmussen and then let's take it from there, if we can make those decent LCU's for PN, we can make "anything" better or "the Best!" and with these projects along side developing our own Missiles etc., NOW WE'RE TALKIN!

So built a Decent External Defences by acquiring-

(PAF) Lease or Interim MRF Squadron,+(6) LIFTs, (6-8) Super Tucano w/ it's advance state of the art Modern avionics, digital equipments and weapon systems, it's more superior than KT-1's, ST A-29 will help and enhance our PAF Pilots capabilities in (tracking, interception, surveillance, support, etc.). and also be useful intercepting illegal aircraft flights and patrolling the Philippines Borders cheaper than using MRF's. (6-8) AH Helicopters, (8) W3-WA's Sokol, (2-3) M.Long range patrol AC.

(PN) (1-2) (lease or buy) OHP's, (1) Missile/ ASW OPV (Knud Rasmussen) type ($50-60M USD) to be use as template for World standard design.

Most importantly set up funds for SRDP Programs and re-open the Bataan Top Secret Facility used by Marcos (Santa Barbara) to develop Missile Projects and install Radar Anti Air Defences systems around the area or TRIDENT 20mm CIWS w/ Radar.

THIS IS THE BEST THING FOR US, TO BE "SELF RELIANT" THAT CAN ALSO REAP REWARDS FOR US IN THE FUTURE!

YES THE FILIPINO CAN!!! :patrioticpinoy:

Unfortunately that is true in particular about the "cariton", however the time would come that the need to explore this option will arrive and whether it would be painful or hard to acquire them knowing that we have a nuclear armed adversary just few kilometers from our territory.

The US would be certainly stretch to the limit, and given that they would be deploying that Anti-ship ballistic missile makes it a whole lot harder for them to operate in our region without suffering serious casualties.

It boils down to respect, China will not respect us as they see us constantly waving the MDT at them and always going to the US for "Aid" that is not even worth a picture in the history books. If you notice China is more aggressive at us than the other nations in our region.

We must act as a strong unified nation and not a crying loser girl who got her butt spank by a bully.

Every Filipino must care for his or her nation no matter what the other nations say.

Personal Note: Bakit? Kahit nag-sabi si Obama na gusto nya ng "Nuclear Free World" eh susunod na tayo. Who is he to determine the path of security of other nations and who is he to demand compliance to the other nuclear powers or potential nuclear powers to disarm knowing that his country the US has 5,000 plus active nuclear weapons.

Also we cannot blame the Venezuelan's, Iranian's and North Korean's in developing and acquiring nuclear weapons as they themselves are being bullied by a nuclear armed adversary (You know what country that is), also they view that they only way for them to be left alone and respected is having these capabilities.

The world needs to realize that a nuclear armed Philippines will happen and just simply live with it.

Acting like a little girl is both embarrassing and humiliating in our part, we always complain and act like an ----- always waving the damn MDT that China sees as a piece of toilet paper.
