China has a innate inferiority complex in them so that is the reason why they always do not get a long with their fellow man. |

To be honest I was pleasantly surprised to know that a lot of Filipinos in his forum think of India in a positive light. But unfortunately there is not much co-operation between our respective governments. We never ventured outside India ocean and you guys were doing well with your arrangement with the Americans. But todays world is changing real fast and I personally believe India-Philippines relations need a big push which can be achieved by any means. I fully understand that buying Indian weapon system or Russian for that matter wont be easy for you guys. But we can start with joint exercises between out navies or air forces. These exercises provide the boost to take the bilateral relationships to a new level.

^^The last time philippines tried to deal with russians, the united states gave us s@#t by cutting USAID and the US Base Lease agreement during the early 80's. Indians and filipinos are everywhere, from the oil platforms in the gulf region to north american outskirts, and from the street of ermita riding motor bikes to UK suburbs, we all share common interest in repopulating earth. So i agree its just about time to make new military ties with india.

The US still thinks that the Philippines is still part of their sphere of influence even if we are thousands of miles away from the Mainland US. For me having economic, cultural and military ties with India is beneficial in the long run. India has a fast growing self-reliant defense industry and their economy is part of the BRICS nations of fast growing economies. |

They are indeed a very good example as a democratic country as they even managed to be self-reliant. The phiippines was to become a self-reliant nation but cut short in the mid 80's. And it is true that the US is still controlling our politics, and it is too easy for them to do it as there are a big number of pro-american filipinos even in the government. |

Always USA USA USA. They don't even take us seriously, I bet they view Poland more as a ally than us. Maybe in their eyes we are just a small puppy. |

When the US government assesed the communist insurgency in the philippines as a non-serious threat to overcome the democratic government of RP, they stopped seriously arming our AFP. Ofcourse this only made it worst when they left the philippines. They instead redirect their attention to other asian countries that have more serios issue to deal with like S. korea, and Taiwan. It's actually 4 of us asian countries that are considered as american puppets, the other one is japan. The US has to remain their influence here in the pacific, had to remain their strong alliance with those 4 nations. The rest are actually british puppets like thailand, malaysia, and singapore. Like indonesia, the philippines could have become as self reliant as them when it comes to military, may even done better than them if that local military program SRDP was never interrupted. So i guess, this alliance will still have some chances to effectively become a deterrent against chinese aggreession in WPS. Though philippines has to stand up with a strong political will to do what is have to be done in terms of upgrading our AFP capabilities. |

I was thinking why the US supports Poland more than us? Poland just recently became a US ally while we have been supposedly been "Allies" for nearly a century. |

I remember somebody from this forum stating that Indonesia is not lucky because unlike the Philippines it does not have a special relationship with the US. I laughed my gut out while I was reading it and I said to myself is this person blind!

Because polish people have this strong historical background as a self-reliant nation, and they have this pride we filipinos cannot even match up with. They run their politics a lot better than us and they do have stronger political will than us. That's why the americans like to deal with them. Pag sa atin yan puro kasi tayo cancellation ng deals. |
