Apparently with all the Nuclear talk I highly doubt that we could even acquire one nuclear weapon in 15yrs. Since we cant produce it yet, who will sell us one? N.Korea? their under weapons blockade. all country that has nuclear capability was developed locally and no country has the balls or the . and even we do start one and we do not have an effective airforce yet we could be targeted by other nations like what israel did to iraq. I say we beef up our conventional weapons and make a stable country even before we talk of nuclear weapons. Stamp Corruption Out, Increase Military Budget, stabilize economic growth and Modernize military equipment to par with other nations before we talk about nuclear capability or WMD. without these prerequisite in our nation we only have problems in obtaining and securing a facility of these magnitude. so the point of obtaining these weapons even talking about it now is kinda lame. establish first good governance and national stability with good military standing that we could say we can be a responsible nation in keeping these kind of arsenal in our military inventory. I have stated this before nuclear capability does not answer security, it only answer Mutual destruction. with space stations popping up and laser weapon technology they can just blast our missiles before they are even positioned to launch. and if you guys think keeping it mobile how can you properly safeguard it from terrorist from wanting to acquire one? now obtaining conventional weapons and increasing our capabilities in 1st strike option is feasible. |

I agree, but it would take an iron fist for that to happen. |

I spoke with my friend who just recently got his doctoral on Physics and he stated that acquiring nuclear weapons is not that hard anymore and that with the current rate of development in producing weapons grade material is within reach of the many nations that includes the Philippines, he also stated that the RP is abundant in the raw materials needed for nuclear power and weapons. |

Creating a nuclear facility to make a nuclear weapon is easy but how about defending that facility form internal and external threats with our current condition? like I said before there's a lot more to be done even before we talk about acquiring one. |

In the near future I hope I would like to put all of our nuclear facility and research underground like what Iran is doing and protect it high performance air defense and an elite unit of the most capable units of the armed forces. |

ni84 why not make a new thread "Possible facility for Nuclear weapons in the Philippines"? since were an archipelago why not under water its better than underground since were in the rim of fire when it comes to earthquake. |

We are up against a "brick Wall" of China and we don't have the tools to even to knock a chip out of it, the only thing that's keeping them from running us over is a piece of 60 year old agreement on a piece of paper, sad to say...
