Hopefully the modernization will come into fruition and would serve our defense needs. Xwolf, the way you speak is that of a great military strategist and combat general that I idolize which is General Heinz Guderian. It is good more people like you are making themselves known because for the past few years I was losing hope that our country would be totally loss to the people that consider themselves as military theorist. Keep up with the informative and intelligent postings.

I hope that the Air-borne version of the Brahmos will be available soon, so that we can have a huge trump card in our arsenal. Imagine a missile that size traveling in Super or Hyper Sonic speed and hitting that aircraft carrier or any of their huge surface assets.

An Indian-made anti-ship missile developed from Russian technology?? Wait again for posts saying that it would probably be inferior because not only is it it from Russian technology but made in India. Since it's brand-new it has no combat experience or not combat-proven.

I do not think so. But let us observe the program, the issue with this bomber borne or attacker plane borne version of the Brahmos is the weight issue. According to the DRDO it is working with Russia to reduce the weight of the missile by 1 ton so that it can be carried by jets like the Su-30MKI or the Su-34 Fullbacks.

Wait and see lang muna tayo. :dunno:

China should be limited with their EEZ and not extend it to ludicrous proportions.

I'm surprise and happy that theirs many who post on the first thread that I opened. But still I'm wondering if any one can answer if Philippine exclusive economic zone are already in our Philippine constitution as part of Philippine territory. Because when I try to buy Philippines MAP its only show kalayaan islands as our claimed territory. But it does not show that we are also claiming the PEEZ. For me I think its time to update our territory lines and include the PEEZ as our territory. How can we say that EEZ belongs to us when our own maps don't reflect that we owned that territory.

The Philippine's EEZ had been included in our 1987 Constitution on Article 1 - National Territory.

Quote:

ARCHIPELAGIC PRINCIPLE
Two elements: 1. The definition of internal waters (supra); 2. The straight baseline method of delineating the territorial sea – consists of drawing straight lines connecting the outermost points on the coast without departing to any appreciable extent from the general direction of the coast. Important distances with respect to the waters around the Philippines -Territorial Sea 12 nautical miles (n.m.) -Contiguous Zone 12 n.m. from the edge of the territorial sea -Exclusive Economic Zone 200 n.m. from the baseline [includes T.S. and C.Z.]
NOTE: There can be a Continental Shelf without an EEZ, but not an EEZ without a Continental Shelf.

TERRITORIAL SEA
The belt of the sea located between the coast and internal waters of the coastal state on the one hand, and the high seas on the other, extending up to 12 nautical miles from the low water mark.

CONTIGUOUS ZONE
Extends up to 12 nautical miles from the territorial sea. Although not part of the territory, the coastal State may exercise jurisdiction to prevent infringement of customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws.

EXCLUSIVE ECONOMIC ZONE
Body of water extending up to 200 nautical miles, within which the state may exercise sovereign rights to explore, exploit, conserve and manage the natural resources The state in the EEZ exercises jurisdiction with regard to:
1. the establishment and use of artificial islands, installations, and structures;
2. marine scientific research;
3. the protection and preservation of marine environment;

Prior to being included in the 1987 Constitution, it was first established by Presidential Decree No. 1599 of 11 June 1978 establishing an Exclusive Economic Zone and for other purposes.

Based on the infantile claim of the Chinese Communist propaganda machine that WPS belongs to it as shown from an "ancient" map whose authenticity is yet to be proven, the Philippines should lay claim to Taiwan (claimed by China).

If one studies the aborigines of Taiwan, it is recorded by true and not revised history, that they were Polynesians and must have migrated from the nearest Polynesian country, the Phil. Although DNA shows majority now has other origins, other settlers came much later. Astronesian Polynesian DNA can be found in Batanes Islands north of Babuyan Islands and is part of the bigger Polynesian race.

Also, at one point in their history, the Spaniards claimed and occupied the northern part of the island, while the Dutch occupied the south. Support from the Spanish authority in Manila was not forthcoming for unknown reason (and can only be due to logistical issues) but it still once was Spain's territory which was accountable to the Manila Authority. The Phil. can now claim it back as part of Philippine-Spanish territory which is now the Republic of the Philippines.

This sorry logic is as ridiculous as the logic they use in claiming the WPS based on an ancient map (authentic or not).

China should go on record that they are ceasing claim to Taiwan.

I don't believe they will challenge us with the exchange of ownership because the Taiwan threat of invasion, offers them too much concessions from the Taiwanese, from technological and industrial information.
