I don't know if I post this thread in right section but I'm just curious about Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone. We are so focus in west philippine sea. How about EEZ especially in east of mindanao. Is our philippine map updated already and included EEZ in the east of mindanao? Or even the whole EEZ territory? Or are we still using the international treaty limits signed by U.S. and Spain as the territory of the philippines plus kalayaan. How about EEZ that is outside of our international treaty limits? Is that area patrolled by our navy also? I'm afraid if we don't the indonesian will. |

![]() Every country has their own EEZ based on UN, so they should know already... Except for China. Regarding Mindanao sea, there are already joint patrol operation agreement with malaysia and indonesia. But still we need more patrol ship on our part.

|
Modernization should prioritize: Patrol Ships with air/sub/ship detection, fast & lightly armed for Navy. Surface Attack Aircraft with anti ship/sub attack capability for Airforce. SAM with Radars, Close AA battery capable of shooting ground targets too for Army. This triangle defense will work together and protect us from external threats. | |

China's claims are absurd and completely unfounded, China is going to piss off a lot of countries all over the region. China must dealt with both diplomatically, economically and if all else fails militarily. |

I would definitely love a confrontation with china , but then again with the current state of the AFP we just have to postpone with that idea in the future.

I hope that the Air-borne version of the Brahmos will be available soon, so that we can have a huge trump card in our arsenal. Imagine a missile that size traveling in Super or Hyper Sonic speed and hitting that aircraft carrier or any of their huge surface assets. |

China is basing their claims from very outdated maps from some medieval Chinese imperial maps that has no modern or scientific foundation. |

We have to establish a NORAD like system and facility to monitor and deal with any possible intrusion over our EEZ. That means building radar stations with Phase-Array radar, omnidirectional radar systems and a system similar to SOSUS warning nets to warn us of surface or sub-surface intrusion. |

A facility like NORAD which includes its entire capabilities would cost a country Trillion of dollars not to mention the necessary technology that you still need to purchase and develop. NORAD includes geosynchronous satellites that maintains a constant watch of predesignated areas. |

True, but the type of NORAD I wish too see is primarily consisting of land base early warning systems that would warn us of impending air intrusions by our neighbors and with the conjunction of SOSUS type naval warning so that to warn us of naval intrusion. Medyo nasobrahan ata ako sa wish list ko, pasensya na. |

dont worry ni84 currently the AFP is planning the same thing and is part of the modernization under President Aquino. it may not be what we desire but then again its better than nothing. hell if we could piggyback on those satellites signals the US are using that would eliminate ground stations which are venerable of sabotage, missile attacks. operational lease on some AWACS would benefits us the most since they do have that capability. |
