A US policy to intervene in Mindanao peace talks that will open the way to the creation of an MILF Bangsamoro Pan Islamic Jihadist sub-state is a great blunder.

The US should reconsider the creation of a "Frankenstein" monster that will in due time turn against it. Americans have been kidnapped and even killed by their Jihadist(Al Quaeda, J.I. Abu-Sayaff) and communist NPA allies.

If they make that Frankenstein state of theirs in our country, I would gladly be the angry mob headed towards their castle.

Pa "WAR ON TERROR" pa sila! For me this is a slap in the face of every soldier who has died in the Philippines or the US soldier that has died in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The only way to correct a wrong policy is to lobby. All stakeholders who are against the creation of a terrorist "sub-state" should write US officials. President Obama can be enlightened by the leaders and the people.

many analyst said the 9/11 bombers were a result of the US interest on Arab oil.

the 9/11 bombers were in fact mostly Saudi nationals just like Osama Bin Laden.

the Bush administration even attacked Iraq who had nothing to do with 9/11.

look who controls Iraqi oil now?

the US remains the world's biggest oil consumer.

MAYBE, THE U.S. IS CONFUSED, DUE TO THEIR NEED FOR OIL, WHICH SIDE TO SUPPORT.

They cannot play around this time. The 9/11 attack has opened many issues on the US world policy. Their interest on oil has been known by the world readers since decades back.

It is best for the US to support their allies the right way this time.

Anyway, local oil exploration will always partner with foreign companies. The US can still enjoy that, but on a fair deal with the Philippine govt.

The US should just keep supporting the Philippines defeat the insurgency.

In the long run, we can enhance our cooperation in maintaining their strategic concerns in this part of globe.

If the US remains fooling around, its allies will lose trust and create a gap.

sadly, that will deny the US its strategic offensive, while helplessly witnessing the advance of its competitors.

This attitude of the US in fooling and interfering in the internal affairs and issues of other nations is a disaster for the US, that disaster is not in the making but is now unfolding.

For me the reason for the US is that they have given themselves self-proclaimed titles like "The Sole Superpower" and "The World's Policeman", and because of these titles they think that mingling in the affairs of other nations are justifiable.

The US has no limits in it's interference in the business of other countries, even entering in the affairs of Major World Powers like Russia and China. I remember back in the South Ossetia war in which the US continuously supported Georgia but suddenly got a political and diplomatic blow back when the EU independent report citing that Georgia started the war and not Russia. Also with the US constantly bickering over Russia in Chechnya and recently the Kuril Island dispute with Russia and Japan. Fortunately for Russia they have 16,000 nuclear warheads and enough to make another 50,000 to shut the American's up.

The US is like a nosy neighbor dictating to the neighborhood in what to do and even telling you how to run your own house.

Also for me the US is the "other man or other woman" who you would come home and be surprise sleeping that your so-called considered best friend is sleeping with your wife or husband.

The US should restudy the intentions of the MILF warlord group. They are the biggest private army in Mindanao. The MILF does not negotiate in good faith. Its leadership threatens violence unless its terms are met. They want to force the issue of a sub-state. They are enemies of the state. The atrocities committed by them are acts of terrorism.

The US cannot afford to be misled into a false sense of complacency. Make no mistake about it. The MILF is still militant and the jihadist influence strong. Their alliances are still intact. The base camps of these people are sanctuary for imported terror and its technology of IED and bomb making.

Creating a state for the MILF is tantamount to creating a bigger security problem in the region. Expansion of territory will lead to power domination in Mindanao. This may lead to more fragmentation of territory, extremist action and displacement of the populace. US defense interests may suffer because of this bigger problem. Growth and more support for this known ally of terror will pour in when an islamic state is created.

The US should not support or recognize the creation of a Pan Islamic Jihadist state. The MILF has a track record in breaking peace agreements. Treachery is a known trait of the enemy of the state.

by the way, it seems that the US is adapting to the external pressures as well.

a good sign in fact since this manifests their behavior of heeding to external critics.

United States' new foreign policy
A Global View
By DR. BETH DAY ROMULO

MANILA, Philippines — Last March, in a speech he made at George Washington University, President Obama spelled out the principles under which the United States might take military action even though its own national security was not at stake. The United States, he said, had the moral responsibility to stop what it perceives to be genocide, the slaughter of innocent civilians.

But, he qualified that policy, America should only intervene when it was not acting alone. In the case of Libya, the United States joined a NATO coalition led by Britain and France and including other nations.

Instead of taking a lead role in military intervention, for which it had often been criticized in the past, especially by Arab countries, this time the United States joined an international effort, with backing from the United Nations. A United Nations Security Council resolution was passed stating that multilateral intervention was justified to protect civilians. The president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, and British Prime Minister David Cameron led the coalition.

The pursuit of Col. Khadafy and the military forces loyal to him was shared. The Americans flew the intelligence missions over Libya but the bombing of military targets was carried out by the French, British, Dutch, and other NATO allies.

The case on the US supporting the MILF is nothing new. About that time, the issue was all over the media.

Maybe, during those times they were too alarmed of the possible full scale AFP-MILF confrontation again (similar to the Summer 2000 campaign).

As for oil, remember that the President then was GW Bush and we know his foreign is somewhat always centered on oil.

We need to be watchful and analytic on their every move.

But let's give the Obama administration a chance.

Anyway, we know he doesnt care much about the Arab oil because he "allowed" Osama Bin Laden to be finally neutralized.

There was a thinking that Bush can never really kill Osama because that would affect his and his dad's business interest with the oil players.

I still couldnt believe why he focused on the hapless Iraqi people instead of the Saudi govt.

But Bush needed to put the blame on someone and coincidentally, he and his dad had an unfinished business with Iraq's Saddam Hussein.

The attack on Iraq has been a great cover up.

The Bush could not touch the Saudis. There's too much oil interest involved.

I pity the hapless Iraqi people.

Just my view though. I may be wrong on this.

Going back, President Obama is not interested in oil and that's one reason he allowed the death of Osama.

So, hopefully, he will do the same for the Philippines now and not mix the MILF case with US oil concerns.

Obama might or might not have any interest in oil, but their are many powerful "special interest groups" are constantly lurking in Washington like a pack of hungry rabid dogs. These so-called special interest groups have the political will and financial might to mold US foreign policy as they see fit.

For me the US should refrain from using sanctions and military force in interfering in other nations affairs.

Now I have a question why has the US not intervened when their were human rights violations in China, North Korea or in Russia?
