To have these kind of weapons will just put our Country at risk more and the rest of the World.

We are just defensive in Nature...

this is dangerours... the AFP is not fully trained to handle and store these weapons which could also get into the wrong hands as corruption is still rampant in the system. Also the disposition of some of this is going to be a environmental problem added to already the pollution of the air, water, and land. If the storage areas were attacked or blown up by terrorists then another enviromental disaster. we need more modern and discipline minds and attitude to handle this. as for now we are not. we are too laid back.

This is not a path we want to go down. We can barely keep control of our conventional inventories for starters.

Aside from accountability issues, there is a great cost associated with creating and maintaining these stocks.

There are also international conventions by which I am pretty certain we are a signatory to which prevents us from creating or obtaining these types of weapons.

However, there is usually a mechanism by which we could give a notice of intent to leave the treaty. It is possible that upon doing so we would risk losing any perceived benefits from abroad by not remaining a signatory.

Finally we lose the mythical moral high ground...if there is one...when it comes to military weaponry.

Chemical weapons are classified as Weapons of Mass Destruction. They are very dangerous to store and stockpile. High to very high security risks will involve the maintenance of a stockpile in our country. It would not be feasible to use the same in war due to the toxicity and number of civilians in a war zone.

Aside from these reasons, we will have to procure chemical weapons suits which is very expensive. Perhaps in some future time the Philippines might have such weapons but not at the present time.
