Man, this makes me furious. The Chinese are clearly testing us, not just our patience, but our ability to respond which, sadly, is we cannot respond. And the most frustrating fact is that the government is very slow in enhancing our military forces.

Uncle Sam is going to have to keep tossing "bones" while our government continues to posture... Are we hoping that we let our big brother do it all for us while we relax on our beaches sipping SML and watching the fireworks?

There may come a point when he loses his patience with us and decides that we have not earned our right to govern these areas and he would rather support the islands becoming a global asset managed by a International body.

This year?

PAF will have MRFs this year?

You wanna rethink that post of yours, chum?

Ill hold you up to that.

Sorry didn't notice this until now.

I've read it in the other forum but I forgot where it is.

But I'm certain we're getting MRF's within the year and "possibly" some long-range maritime patrol aircrafts. We've heard the DND, AFP and PAF guys say that several times. Maybe it's for real.

We'll just have to wait and see.

CC the animated signature would have been funnier if the spring had popped out as well.

It is a cut from a scene in the anime, Code Geass R2, episode 3.

Misleading thread title.

Nowhere in the article did it say the jet was Chinese.

It could be this year, or next year. As far as I can remember the NBN4 facebook page (posted by sir Israeli here.) announced that the PAF is already procuring 2 fighter aircraft (F-18 or Mig-29), the first two of originally planned six fighters. While the other six (PAF is forming up a squadron of 12 fighters this decade) will be leased from United States, according to some news articles and posts here and in Timawa.

Acquisition of 6 jet trainers (M346 or TA-50) are separate from the acquisitions above. The media just, again mistakenly thought that the 6 LIFTs are the 6 jet fighters.

This is correct. See my previous threads sometime Jun, acquisition of minimum of 2 F-18 or MiG-29 is for the conduct of AC Familiarization, education and training but will also be mission ready, hoping to materialize 2011.
MRF's lease and Trainer AC's acquisition will materialize 2012-2013 forecast. They have separate budgets.

But what is the connection of the MRF's to this topic? MRF discussions are on other other blogs. :btt:

The incident took place just 1 week ago last July 11 near the disputed areas...

http://verafiles.org/frontpage-sticky/2-un...-over-spratlys/

Read your link and it stated there that the occupants were wearing Green BDU... I guess its Naval Green Camo and I think Chinese Marines are the ones wearing those kind of uniforms. But what puzzles me is where did that Chopper came from? I guess they are from PROC Base in Paracel islands.

Ito na ang consequences ng Walang Air Defense sa ating bansa dahil sa nagpabaya ang mga previous Presidents from FVR to GMA thinking that China won't such as these intrusions and stealing our territories. Specifically yang si GMA, she decides to retire the F5 without replacements. Nagbenta pa ng 2- Robinson Raven Choppers to PNP as Bnew pero madalas at laspag na pala gamitin ni Mikey at MIKE Arroyo as per LOG. Buti na lang si PNoy naging isa sa mga priority nya ang AFP Modernization para we can defend our own Backyard.

Now with regards to my suggestion of fielding boats with CIWS, I prefer an air defense for low-flying aircrafts and cease this buzzing around by jets and helicopters by the Chinese. I don't recommend High-altitude SAM coz it would danger those Commercial Passenger Airliners that flies above this area. Our country will be criticize for launching a SAM and wrongly target a civilian Airliner just like what happened when a US Navy destroyer launch a missile and killed hundreds of Iranian civilians for shooting down a passenger airliner.

Dami pa naman airliners natin that passes above this area at 35000 feet above going to Vietnam, Hongkong and Thailand. One if one of us is in that plane and then a PN Surface to Air missile accidentally launch it towards the plane where you flying in. Patay na.... Kaya CIWS or a radar-guided 50calibre machine gun can keep the mosquitoes away.

The helicopters will not fly all the way from the Paracels. There had to be a destroyer or other large vessel nearby. Having a photo of that chopper could help nail down pretty quick which asset it came from.

Oh wait..we don't have jack for ISR capabilities
