In the latest incident, an unidentified foreign plane harassed a group of Philippine fishermen in the South China Sea last month, the Philippine navy said Tuesday, adding that they believed the flyover to be a warning.

The fishermen reported that the jet flew low over their boat early last month off the Investigator Northeast Shoal, said navy chief Vice Admiral Alexander Pama.

"An unidentified jet buzzed our fishing boat some 20 to 30 feet (6-9 metres) from the top of the mast of the fishing boat," Pama told reporters.

The shoal, claimed by the Philippines, lies between the major western Philippine island of Palawan and the disputed Spratly islands.

The Chinese are really dead serious and too aggressive to assert its claims.... we need that Hornets the soonest possible to counter this kind of buzzing...

Just let them continue what they are doing. Anyway, if they start shooting our citizens then it will be a start of WW3 and they will pay dearly with their lives. :rifle:

We really need some interceptors to prevent such incidents. As well as modern ground-based radars and long range surface to air missile launchers.

Nowhere in the article did it say the jet was Chinese.

It may not have mentioned "Chinese",but who gives a f*ck anyway? Who else does that signature move of buzzing or just doing a fly-by?

Other than fighters, we also need a lot of radars to cover our airspace. Some AWAC perhaps? Until then we would only rely on fishermen to report unfriendly activities in the area.
