Coast Guard, Navy ships deployed MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will send a patrol ship and placed all its air assets on standby to conduct regular aerial reconnaissance to monitor the situation in the disputed Spratlys Islands. Lieutenant Commander Algier Ricafrente, PCG public affairs chief, said that the PCG’s 56-meter search and rescue vessel and presidential ship BRP-EDSA (SARV-002) has been prepositioned in Puerto Princesa City in Palawan last week and just waiting for directives from the PCG headquarters to conduct regular sea- borne patrol operations in areas of the Spratlys held by the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea. “Sending a Coast Guard vessel along the disputed territories is more advisable because many believe it is less provokable for attacks since the PCG is civilian in nature,” Ricafrente said. The Philippine Navy also responded yesterday by dispatching BRP-Raja Humabon (PF-11), the only active World War 2-era warship destroyer and frigate and the largest warship in the Philippine fleet. Meanwhile, Malacañang sees no reason to be alarmed by China’s deployment of the Haixun 31, one of its biggest civilian maritime patrol ships, in the South China Sea. “From what we understand, it is a civilian ship that is on its way to Singapore, that is something that happens ordinarily and there is no cause for alarm,” deputy presidential spokesman Abigail Valte said yesterday in a press briefing. No PLAN or China can say that ACT of AGGRESSION where we our boats are within the Philippines EEZ. Just like any other nation in this world, a country can send its boats, ships, or planes to check and patrol its borders, territories and even the EEZ. The one who is in the ACT of AGGRESSION is China. China is already out of its international recognize EEZ and West Philippine Sea islands like KIG is over 560 miles from Mainland China. Now by virtue of your SILLY HISTORY during TANG DYNASTY, China starts to crawl, claims and use its Military power to evict the people who are in KIG and claiming to the World that they own the place. Remember NOT Even a Single Country or Nation recognize your stupid Claim as part of your history. I have look into the MAP of Tang Dynasty and KIG is not part of your territory. There is not even a single building structure or any evidence that your Stupid Tang emperor or Governor once live there. Your claim is baseless as it is only mention by your Traders that they use it only as Stopover before they proceed to any Nation in southeast Asia. ![]() I bet you want to own Manila as well since its in the Chinese history records that its called Mai and a lot of your Chinese ancestors lived here too and even occupied it by Limahong.... Even Tibet is not part of old Chinese Empire but you annexed and Invaded it... I doubt that the claim about Nansha is just injected by Chinese Stupid Scholars on History upon instructions by the Chinese Communist Party. |

I dont want to go into the convoluted claims and counterclaims, its for the politicians and diplomats to decide. Maybe no one has recognized China's claim to the Spratlys but neither does the claim of the Philippines. Is there a single country that recognize Phil's claim or for that matter the claims of other countries? None. |

Yes...by virtue of UNCLOS and declaration by then President Marcos PD1599. Even during Spanish times, those group of islands is part of Philippines Territory. The Philippine Government during the term of President Marcos has format submitted its claim to these Islands. Why you said that let alone the Politicians do the argument? I am not a Politician either but I have Logical thinking and reasoning of what is right or wrong... Then what happen to your brain, is it already alienated, brainwash or reprogrammed by your Chinese Superiors in Mainland... Just like what I have Spratly islands is part of Philippine Territory even during Spanish times which started in the 15th Century till we gain Independence. ![]() http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/lofiversio...hp/t265958.html |

These islands are actually an inherent part of the Philippine Archipelago. Mr. Marcos erred when he issued PD to claim it. The philosophy is why would we claim ownership of a territory which is already ours as shown in the historic maps ? This started China and other claimants to draw their own maps also for purposes claiming some of our island territories. These claimants including China should have lodged a claim before the International Court of Justice long time ago before Mr. Marcos initiated an erroneous claim. Our burdens now is not the problem of territorial ownership, but, to stand firm to defend it from invaders. |

-PILIPINAS- |
