MANILA, Philippines – One would think, given recent incidents of China’s alleged “bullying” of other claimants in the South China Sea, that the admiral at the helm of the badly-equipped but bravely-manned Philippine Navy would be doing nothing but gnash his teeth over the obvious mismatch in military muscle, and cry nonstop for bigger budgets for naval defense. To be sure, Rear Admiral Alex Pama is pushing for better materiel for a Navy whose role has grown substantially –from defending Philippine territory to confronting threats like piracy, human and drug trafficking, and protecting the country’s biodiversity from poachers – but he is also realistic enough to know that having the right and adequate hardware isn’t the only crucial ingredient here. http://www.interaksyon.com/article/4727/in...own-limitations |

^^So west philippine sea is yet to be covered by Coastal Watch radar system, and it will take another 2-3 yrs OMG..... We all hope this time everything will go smooth and runover all that freaking obstacles, dont jump over it, otherwise this is gonna happen again like before: "The “unsinkable” Alex Pama, as Starweek magazine once described him, doesn’t hide his painful appreciation of the huge challenge his command faces, or his dismay over the considerable time lost because the AFP modernization was stalled by issues of politics, corruption and sheer apathy. But he is confident that it won’t be too late for all current efforts to start bearing fruit, and hopes they won’t get derailed again for one reason or another. He concludes, “If we have short memories, let’s hope we have longer foresight.” That is the truth, so saying that "we dont have money" is total BS. The philippines have always got the money, even small but enough to modernize our AFP in a decent and capable mean level. Just say NO to corruptions and all filipinos will be just fine. |

Kaya next election. Pero balita ko..US Forces are massing their Marines in Large numbers flown-in via C17 in Guam... Americans are ready at the event of any shooting... |

If you have friends who are residing or visiting Guam right now, they can attest to that coz right now there are lots of US Marines in Guam. I even asked if my friend has sightings of F22 Raptors, No sightings but maybe hidden under a Concrete Bunker. |

With due respect to you sir, kindly support your topic particularly when it comes to a very serious matter, This KIG issue is a very clear & present danger, Kuwait was not prepared when Iraq invaded them, Saudi hurriedly call for US intervention that's why they were spared, the Brits were surprised when Argentine occupied the Falkland island. KIG right now is like a chess match, Chicoms is using a pawn piece of slowly inching their way into our territory bit by bit they are now inside our circle, like a cancer cell they are eating us alive and before we know it we are all dead! |

Sori, i can't claim this if you are asking for some Media Press Release about US Marines deployment in Guam. But I just chatted with a friend who happens to be in Guam right now and told me that there are lots of US Marines flown-in via C17 Transporters. What I am sharing to you is an Eye-Witness to what the person saw in Guam. Of course in Guam, it isn't normal for US to send lots of US Marines and flown-in by C17s. I maybe wrong but the purpose of deployment is in preparation for Balikatan or CARAT 2011 exercise. But there is one Chinese Press Release that PLAN will be conducting a NAVAL EXERCISE in the Western Pacific Ocean at the end of this month. |

the chinese exercise in west pacific just goes to show that eastern philippines is exposed -it will be the last one to be covered by coast watch system. inuuna ang west philippines. anyway, the kano got our eastern as well as western sides covered, although we really need to do our part - get those Del Pilar class "battleships" over here pronto
