The jets could be Malaysian then. They have both Flankers and Fulcrums. |

It's very easy to distinguish the difference even at a distance through their ROUNDELS, the Chinese have RED Star only and Malaysians have Sky BLUE, Royal BLUE, Yellow SUN Roundels, Besides PAF are trained to identify this kind of things maybe a little inaccuracy on which kind of JET specially with the MiGs, SUs because they are all very similar, but with FLAGs and Roundels, I don't think they'll miss that part.... :thumb: |

we could be barking at the wrong tree Confirm muna. no official statements from PAF? Isnt PAF included in the DOE/DND deal to modernize? PAF should be included and should have been given a sort of DP so they can purchase at least a few jets to patrol these areas with authority!

As far as we can see, the administration is concentrated on the naval acquisitions. No word yet for the PAF modernization. Puro plano at study pa lang ang ginagawa ng airforce. Kawawa naman. |

sounds confusing if its MiG29 or Sukhoi 27... but if you were the PAF OV-10 pilot and a jet fighter buzz overhead at High Speed like Subsonic and doing evasive manuevers on you. Can you really tell exactly if its MiG or Sukhoi? What you will see at a distance will just be a Sihoulette of that jet. Except if those 2 fighter jets flies beside the OV-10 Bronco and giving our PAF pilots a Naughty finger. Then you will go home Drop-Jaw of what the other pilot did.... |

for many of us here, we are military junkies who would automatically balk at suggestions that the chinese jets were mig-29s. for our airforce pilots? hmmm... i think this reflects on the training that they are getting. why would they confuse mig29s and su-27s? if the reports are true and the chinese jets gave them fly-bys, shouldn't they know for sure what jets they were up against? shouldn't they be getting briefings on what they might be up against? |

Our pilots are trained to identify aircrafts and what nation it belongs. It's just that they need to compare it with pictures on the database to confirm if it was really a MIG or SU's because they look similar in a distance. But according to my source, which is my counter-part in the Mossad, it was an SU27 since China does not operate MIG's as their jet fighters. Besides, they(our pilots) saw one red star on each wing which is, according to information, an insignia of the PROC's AF. |
