LOL...are you Chowking with me? The Communist Chinese will not negotiate fairly. They have not in the past and they will not in the future. Their actions past and present belie their intentions. What did Mao say? Power comes from the barrel of a gun... When it comes to irredentist claims, the Chinese will never negotiate in the purest sense of the word. They may smile and handshake and have photo ops and even sign a pretty piece of paper but I assure you at the end of the day, they will take what they believe (or pretend to believe) is theirs. Besides the Chinese are very very good at Bilateral negotiations and we will end up losing our pants and a few years or decades down the road they will come for our shirts. I would rather spend the night in a pit of snakes. Look at our agreements over the Spratleys they have thumbed their noses at. Look at their behavior under the WTO and the circumstances regarding their admission. These guys do not give two squirts of piss about us. |

We try many times: but, they never honor treaties, it's part of their attitude: "malakas kami kaya kami pa rin ang masusunod" this is what China is doing right now.

I agree! If they sincerely want what's best for the whole SE ASIAN Countries, they should be helping us and others in a sincere way, being responsible and act as role models in Asia, not trying to fight us in order to be a well respected rising Super Power. |

China today is quite far from its Old Emperors coz those old Kingdoms has some Honor to protect and respects its neighbors. Except China in those days were really Bullying each other coz China is divided to 5 Kingdoms if I am not mistaken and its neighbors like Chosin Empire (Now korea).... Remember the History of Korea, Dunbuyeo & Buyeo Kingdom existed and spread its kingdom into Manchuria... But I haven't heard of Chinese emperor invading old Philippines except for that Chinese Pirate named Limahong. The old Chinese who goes to the Philippines were Traders and Merchants but never did they mentioned that they owned a Territory named Nansha Islands coz old Chinese traders never believe that these islands are Inhabitable to Humans. Nansha its just a haven for any Traders from Vietnam, China and Philippines. But I read somewhere here in the net that Filipinos with the Aid of Spaniards once conquered part of Taiwan during the 15th century. it stated that the Spanish and allies established a settlement at Santissima Trinidad, building Fort San Salvador on the northwest coast of Taiwan near Keelung in 1626 which they occupied until 1642 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Taiwan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwan_under_Spanish_rule |

It's nice to know all of these! Yes we can even tell China now that we've been trading partners for Centuries with your Ancestors and never had problems like this ever since, so why now...? They really have to consider and re think their acts towards us Filipinos... |

Sadly the only thing they respect is force. We can tell the current crop of communist managers all we want but it is force or the credible use of force that they will listen to. They think they have the canos in a position that the canos will not do much about their aggression in the west philippine sea. They expect the usual bluff and bluster by the usa but not for them to actually do anything. The Hainan incident did not help any regarding China's perception of the americans being weak in will. |
