Now that's the way to modernize, buy or build new naval vessels. Let's avoid 2nd hand ships from other countries. If we can build a local LCU, can we build our own MRV, Fast Patrol Boats, missile boats or even submarines? YES WE CAN :thumb: |

Napansin ko rin yun... pero after seeing this ship it looks sturdy and tough.. mukhang matibay at makapal ang bakal na ginamit pati ng pagkakagawa... I've also looked at chinese ships and they looked light and thin.. I know looks can be deceiving but try to compare it... |

actually, there are 2 LCUs. Its a little unclear how the first one ended in PN hands. it might have been a commercial LCU that the PN got second-hand and painted gray. this is the LCU shown in the beginning of this thread. The second one is the new built with caterpillar engines from propmech and construction of hull in Misamis oriental by another shipyard there. When I get home, I'll look at the new photos posted by paratorpe/passerby as i cant see it here at work. Can anyone tell me if the new set of photos in page 2 of this thread is the new LCU or the same LCU as in the photo in the beginning of the thread ?? |

Based on the pictures, it seems like the new LCU can carry a small/medium size helicopter.![]()

![]() In this picture, there are 2 or 3 of them. |

Modernization should prioritize: Patrol Ships with air/sub/ship detection, fast & lightly armed for Navy. Surface Attack Aircraft with anti ship/sub attack capability for Airforce. SAM with Radars, Close AA battery capable of shooting ground targets too for Army. This triangle defense will work together and protect us from external threats. | |

iba yata to sa 1st pix. and there seem to be confusion on the name tagbanua. seems somebody floated this name around and thought the first ship is the tagbanua. if these are new sets of pictures, then maybe its safe to assume that the ship to be inagurated will be the tagbanua, as evidenced by the name on the rear. additionally, the sides are different from the first pix. the first lcu shown is similar to commercial lcus. but i could be mistaken sayang walang helipad. sana they could include a helipad for the next lcus (hopefully) that can accomodate a medium chopper, not just the light ones |

So these ships are all 100% pinoy made? I wonder why they do not start building fast-attack-crafts for the PN too? But at any rate, this is a great start!

If they can build large ships like that, then there is no reason why they cannot design, develop, and build other type of ships like missile corvettes and other fast attack crafts. |
