The PNP under PMAyers is a corrupt, incompetent mess: bus hostage rescue fiasco, abusive generals, connivance with crime syndicates, carjackers running rampant, high profile cases dismissed by the courts because of police bungling of evidence, etc.. one can only wonder considering the supposed quality of education they received from the academy, not to mention the post graduate studies here and abroad.

PMA alumni: Don't generalize, we're not all corrupt

Quote:

MANILA, Philippines - Alarmed over the allegations of corruption in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as exposed by Ret. Col. George Rabusa, the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association (PMAAA) came out  with a manifesto of support for the on-going investigation of  the House and the Senate on the allegations of corruption in the military.

In their manifesto, they also said that they are supporting the initiatives of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of National Defense (DND) to create fact-finding and investigating bodies to address their concerns.

They also affirmed their continued support for the AFP leadership. and called on fellow PMA graduates to remain true and loyal to their sworn duties to the Filipino people and Constitution.

They also called on the media to be fair to all men in uniform, specially members of the PMA, not to generalize all PMA graduates because it is destroying not only the PMA as an institution but both the AFP and Philippine National Police.

Isn't it that a president from UP and Assumption corrupted the generals of both the AFP and the PNP? Why single out PMAers?

how many UP ROTC generals committed plunder compared to PMA alumni in the AFP and PNP?

heck, there arent even UP ROTC generals today, the PMA Mafia doesn't give them any opportunity for promotion to higher, more influential ranks.

And how many PMA trained officers gave their lives so we can enjoy freedom and posting in this forum? How many nameless and faceless PMAers who stood by Courage, Integrity, Loyalty compared to those being accused by plunder?

I've been reading the same kind of BS on this forum since ive joined. Yeah, because 10 or 20 officers became corrupt, all of them are corrupt. I strongly believe that the current set of senior officers being investigated should be charged immediately in a court of law, and be jailed for life if proven guilty. I firmly believe they are guilty, yet they are still presumed innocent right TOPP? If the said corrupt officers are accorded the benefit of the doubt, why then insist on indicting the whole alumni of PMA? Why then the insistence on branding each and every graduate as such? If you do believe that not everyone of the cavaliers are corrupt, why are you out to persecute and condemn each one, including cadets who dont have the faintest idea what you are accusing them of?

To me I do not for a second believe in generalization. What we are discussing here are only those who were involved in issues like plunder or corruption. It would be seriously out of character to blame the few who abide by the motto of the PMA. It only happen that most of the AFP involved are PMA'yers. Cadets are out of the picture in this topic because we are even dealing mostly with those who have already retired.

We can simply say that these generals or officers retired or active who have a checkered reputations are the one's who tarnished the name of their Alma mater. My son-in-law is also a product of the PMA now serving with the navy.

Mr. iced_man21, before putting yourself into rage or outburst about this topic, be sensible and professional. Digest individual post in a rationale manner before blowing up your top.

Haven’t you noticed that all military and police generals accused of corruption, past and present, all graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA)?

It seems the PMA—whose motto is “courage, integrity, loyalty”—should exclude “integrity” in its motto since many of its graduates don’t have it.

* * *

Only PMA graduates become AFP chief of staff or chief of the PNP.

Name me one graduate of the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) who has become AFP chief of staff or PNP chief since the time of President Cory Aquino.

The AFP chief of staff or the PNP chief chooses “PMAyers” as members of his immediate staff—including officers who hold the purse strings—to succeed him.

That’s because of the so-called “PMA Mafia” that operates within the AFP and the PNP.

The PMA is a brotherhood, and if you’re a non-PMAyer you’re out of the loop and don’t have a chance to reach the highest post.

President Noy should give equal opportunity to non-PMAyers in the AFP or PNP, those who came from the ranks or graduates of ROTC, to become AFP or PNP chief.

I know many ROTC graduates who are as competent as—or better than—PMAyers.

If the President wants to break up the PMA Mafia, the cause of demoralization and corruption within the military and police organizations, he should appoint reserve officers to key positions that will give them a crack at the highest post in the AFP and PNP.

Non-PMAyers greatly outnumber the PMAyers in the military or police service.

tama si Tulfo, PMA is not doing this country any good, its graduates are a disgrace, nothing but opportunists and thieves!

These facts are indisputable. it is as real and true as the fact that the sun rises on east and set on the west.

Ah, ok. This is not a generalization? Indisputable fact pala ang pagiging walang kwenta ng pma dhl ang mga graduates dito ay walang silbi at corrupt? At ang opinyon na yan ay base sa kasalanan ng iilan? That seems like a real clear example of a generalization to me.

Gen. Romeo Espino was the longest serving CS AFP (11 years I think), he's UP ROTC, he was succeeded by Gen. Fabian Ver (5 years) UP ROTC as well, what do you think they have done to the AFP?
