The PMA Mafia within the AFP and PNP

Haven’t you noticed that all military and police generals accused of corruption, past and present, all graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA)?

It seems the PMA—whose motto is “courage, integrity, loyalty”—should exclude “integrity” in its motto since many of its graduates don’t have it.

Only PMA graduates become AFP chief of staff or chief of the PNP.

Name me one graduate of the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) who has become AFP chief of staff or PNP chief since the time of President Cory Aquino.

The AFP chief of staff or the PNP chief chooses “PMAyers” as members of his immediate staff—including officers who hold the purse strings—to succeed him.

That’s because of the so-called “PMA Mafia” that operates within the AFP and the PNP.

The PMA is a brotherhood, and if you’re a non-PMAyer you’re out of the loop and don’t have a chance to reach the highest post.

President Noy should give equal opportunity to non-PMAyers in the AFP or PNP, those who came from the ranks or graduates of ROTC, to become AFP or PNP chief.

I know many ROTC graduates who are as competent as—or better than—PMAyers.

If the President wants to break up the PMA Mafia, the cause of demoralization and corruption within the military and police organizations, he should appoint reserve officers to key positions that will give them a crack at the highest post in the AFP and PNP.

Non-PMAyers greatly outnumber the PMAyers in the military or police service.

tama si Tulfo, PMA is not doing this country any good, its graduates are a disgrace, nothing but opportunists and thieves!

These facts are indisputable. it is as real and true as the fact that the sun rises on east and set on the west.

saddening really, and disappointing too.

I really looked up to PMAers as honest, upright men, knights in shining armor but now no more.

there are just too many rotten alumni for me to conclude that the PMA mistah clique is doing this country more harm than good.

Let me speak my mind on this matter. You cannot blame the school if it's graduates did not uphold it's tradition to another institution. The Philippine Military Academy is basically a SCHOOL. The Armed Forces of the Philippines is basically an ORGANIZATION. There is individuality to this entities though they are of the same family. It's like PMA is the mother and AFP is the son. It is the choice of the anak to be like that. In short, FULL OF CORRUPTION. The PMA is doing good in training and disciplining the future leaders of this nation. It is now up to the graduate to continue the culture to wherever he will go. Hindi nagkulang ang institusyong ito. Ang problema ay nasa tao na mismo. We should not GENERALIZE everything because of the mistake of a few. :closed: :closed:

The PMA was not being blamed for it's rotten products. It is only pointed out that mostly if not all the Generals who were involved in the exposed AFP corruption were products of the PMA. While it is true that it is only an institution and has nothing to do with what it's individual products behave or have done wrong during their stint in the AFP, it is still naturally and morally accountable for the integrity of it's products so that it can continue to use integrity in the PMA's motto. The word INTEGRITY in it's motto, does'nt denote the integrity of the cadets still undergoing their training course. It is a brand to describe the cadets after graduating from the academy and were already in the AFP service to prove their integrity of which the academy purportedly stand for.

How will you measure INTEGRITY then if that is the case? Measure in the sense that while the cadet is still in the PMA. How will the institution guarantee that it's products are good QUALITY pagkalabas/graduate?

"PMA is not doing this country any good, its graduates are a disgrace, nothing but opportunists and thieves!"

I don't get all your points here. Ano ba talaga? PMA o ang AFP/PNP officer corps ang dapat ayusin? :dunno:

Integrity cannot be measured because it's highly visible. The PMA is a conduit to the AFP because the PMA is run by the AFP. The Academy's credibility and integrity can only be restored in tandem with the the AFP. So, It necessitates for the AFP to be reformed first before we can expect a highly respectable Military Academy. Simple equation.

what the cadets are looking up to right now are the senior cavaliers who have gotten mind blowing riches

integrity is just a word to them now, useless and worthless - Reyes, Garcia, Rabusa, Villanueva et al just proved it to them

id say close the PMA or make the cadets pay tuition

we taxpayers should not give these future plunderers a free ride

Sounds like an opinion of a member of CPP-NPA-NDF/partylist rep to me. Or an "aktibista". :headbang:
