The new term 'Green Water Navy' has replaced the old term 'Brown Water Navy', so should the PN be called this new term sinced they can only operate on LITTORAL ZONE...

At the moment it's between Brown and Black with a distinctive smell "hinalukay na kanal" in Tagalog! That's compared to other Naval Forces in the World when it comes to our ships and armaments, I think our PN is the only Navy in the World that doesn't have an ASW capabilty meaning we are the weakest! No offence but it's true...

But our PN Men/Sailors can be one of the best and if trained especially with a Modern equipments, too bad our Government, Politicians and Miltary officials always give the Country's AFP Modernization the least priority!

This is so true! maybe they are waiting for our PN to have like an accidental SKIRMISH and PN ends up losing one of its ship....... HOPE NOT!

But if something like this happens, I don't think our PN or Marines will just take it lightly regardless ill equipped or not! An incident like the sinking of S.Korea's Cheonan ship won't be acceptable to them.

What is the point of this INANE and MUNDANE thread about a single phrase describing the Philippine Navy?

Whether the PN is called a brown or green water navy is a NON-ISSUE.

Those in the PN have more important things to worry about, such as implementing modernization.
