2 witnesses in Lozano carjack-slay case now in PNP custody

Quote:

The Philippine National Police said Thursday they now have in custody two witnesses in the killing of Emerson Lozano, a car dealer and a son of Marcos lawyer Oliver Lozano.

According to a GMA News Flash Report, Task Force (TF) Lozano said the witnesses positively identified the suspects in the killing of the younger Lozano, whose charred body was found last Friday in Porac, Pampanga.

But officials from TF Lozano declined to give further details as its operations against the suspects are still ongoing, the same television report said.

2 suspects in Evangelista slay caught

Quote:

MANILA, Philippines - Two suspects in the murder of car dealer Venson Evangelista are now in police custody while 4 others remain at large, police said Friday.

Police Superintendent Allan Purisima, Central Luzon police director, said suspects Alfred Mendiola and a certain Batibot Parulan are now under arrest for the murder of Evangelista.

He said 4 other suspects remain at large: alias Joel (the mechanic), alias Rolly (the gunman) and masterminds Roger and Raymond Dominguez.

Evangelista, 30, went missing in Quezon City on January 13.

Police earlier said a suspect, disguised as a transvestite, introduced himself as Allan Torres to Evangelista.

Torres was a prospective buyer of the Toyota Land Cruiser being sold by Evangelista’s father, Arsenio.

The elder Lozano was right on saying "it's politically motivated!"

The investigation is still in progress. Wild comments are far advanced that can jeopardize the accuracy in trailing the real facts leading to the event.

Prime suspect in carjack-slay cases seeks ‘police custody’

Quote:

MANILA, Philippines - Raymond Dominguez, one of the prime suspects in three high-profile carjack-slay cases, has voluntarily turned himself over to the Bulacan Provincial Police late Saturday.

However, the car trader continued to deny any hand in the brutal killing of used-car dealers Venson Evangelista and Emerson Lozano, and of the latter's companion, Ernani Sencil. “Wala po akong kinalaman sa isyu na iyan,” Dominguez told TV Patrol Sabado.

Dominguez said he would go to the authorities to voluntarily explain himself instead of waiting for the police to issue a warrant against him. "Kasi sa ngayon yung side lang ng mga sinasabi nilang suspects and napapakinggan, kaya nag-decide na akong pumunta dun," he explained.

Mostly suspects in serious crimes more so if they are prominent with law enforcers, hand in themselves to the authorities before the order of battle (in police parlance-intense operation) is hatched against them to avoid deadly encounter. They will not admit it as a surrender, but, protective custody. It is their scheme of pretending to be innocent despite clear and convincing evidence point directly or indirectly to them.
