Yeah, I think its not Hellfire but training and upgrade of Broncos for more accurate bomb and rocket delivery.

To avoid criticism, write nothing, say nothing, do nothing, BE NOTHING.

The drone is one of NPAs weaknesses especially if US Army satellite imagery tracks them down and sends these drones to fire on them. Believe me, the casualties will number to the tens of thousands if not thousands. Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan are recipients of these satellite imagery benefits. The latest terrorist tracked by this kind of imagery was killed by a flying drone which fired rocket propelled missiles on the car the terrorist was riding . He was no. 3 in Al Qaeda.

Harpoon is overkill for use against Islamic militants e.g. ASG, JI, MILF.

Possibly also man-portable missiles like the Javelin

only 120,000 dollars for the reusable command launch unit and 40,000 dollars for the missile

So theoretically for the 18.4 million dollar budget, the US can give us 30 CLUs for 3,600,000 dollars and 370 missiles for 14,800,000 dollars.

But as usual, absent the precise info, I am just merely speculating as we all probably are.

wag javelin mahirap yan...bka masabat ng kalaban yan hagaya ng ginawa ng afghan sa US..US provide stinger missle pra sa soviet troops ngaun san ginagamit un stinger missles na binigay ng US sa afghan..edi sa US din kung baga taste ur own medicine...

U.S. to start implementing "precision" missiles in Philippines

(philstar.com) Updated July 30, 2010 05:40 PM Comments (1)

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) -- The United States has started implementing a program aiming to prove the precision capability of Philippine military aircraft and help the country in its fight against terrorist groups and other armed groups, the Philippine defense department said today.

"It's a program for the enhancement of the precision capabilities of the aircraft that is supporting our ground troops in the South. So the equipment that will be provided will be basically some software and other equipment which will allow us to perform this enhanced precision capability for the Air Force basically," Department of National Defense spokesman Eduardo Batac.

The 4 million U.S.-dollar project, inclusive of softwares, will be installed to OV-10 planes used by the military in dropping bombs and firing rockets at enemy positions.

The Philippine air force currently has OV10s although only 10 are operational. Batac stopped short of saying how many aircraft will be equipped with the system.

But once completed, Batac said, the [b/aircraft equipped with enhanced precision capabilities can deliver munitions on the enemy even when there is limited visibility [/b]

thats nice hehehhe astig yan..maganda pa naman ang OV-10 prang A-10 na turboprop lang....

This may be in response to General Ebdane's claim that the US government was not willing to transfer Air to Surface Weapons technology (wirings and avionics) on the Israeli Cobras to the GRP.

Needless to say, I don't believe "smart weapons" are enroute until I see them.

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will have missiles in its arsenal within President Benigno Aquino III's term of office, a senator and former soldier said Wednesday.

In his State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday, Aquino promised capability upgrades and modern equipment for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

He said the BRP Gregorio Del Pilar, a former US Coast Guard cutter, may just be the first of "more vessels in the future — these, in addition to helicopters and patrol craft."

"If we mean decent armed forces that can maintain peace, that can be done within the next few years under President Aquino," Trillanes said.

"What we expect is that, finally, within his term, that we finally get missile technology. We're really lagging behind (other militaries)," he said, adding the AFP should also eventually buy submarines.

He said Filipino soldiers are trained well but lack equipment.

"We send officer to train abroad, so they have their skills upgraded. We are on standard as far as training and indoctrination is concerned," he said.

Trillanes, a former Navy lieutenant, said he has already seen some of the President's efforts to reform the AFP.

Aquino has put up housing projects for soldiers. Their combat pay has also been raised to P500 a month from P240 a month.

Soldiers in combat operations also get P150 a day as “combat incentive pay.”

"He exceeded the expectations in this regard," Trillanes said.

Trillanes was jailed for more than seven years for his participation in mutinies against the administration of then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He, along with more than 300 soldiers, was granted amnesty by the Aquino administration. (Jonathan de Santos/Sunnex)
