Easy on the PN my friends, take a closer look at the caption:
This is just a trainer RC chopper to prepare the pilots for the real thing - bigger and more capable UAVs.

LOL wag mo na ispinin, talagang laruan lang yan. Kung di yan laruan, asan ba jan ang is equipped with cameras and other sophisticated avionics systems essential in its projected aerial surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

Basahin nyo po naman ang press advisory: "...equipped with cameras and sophisticated avionics system" who can blame me if I expected this PN UAV to at least look like this: ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us instead of this: ![]()

with a uav, a combat ship does not need a helideck to send off an aerial observation to verify or observe whats beyond the horizon . in other words small patrol boats can send off-shore aerial observation that was only possible before with heli-deck -equipped frigates or corvettes carrying helicopters. |

I sincerely hope so. PNAG could really be using the small RC chopper to train pilots for bigger UAVs as what spraret said. But I doubt it would actually be the Firescout - too damn expensive and with some of the sensors deleted - but locally crafted version of it. |
