The UDMC suffered an epic fail in our own evaluation.

may we know where it failed or the reason why it was not chosen?

initial weapon tested suffered persistent short stroking, replaced with another example which after a while of flawless performance, kept on jamming.

the NAVSOG operate in a very demanding environment.

weapons failure must never happen.

UDMC has problems with its own version of the piston system for the AR, according to some AR enthusiasts, the most reliable piston-driven ARs are those from Lewis Machine & Tool. LMT ARs feature a short stroke piston design which eliminated a problem common to other piston ARs - tilting of the carrier during the cycle.

Only problem is, LMT AR rifles are very expensive compared to traditional gas-impingement ARs and even other piston types.

If UDMC perfects its design and sells the reliable final iteration at friendly prices, then it can probably have good business with the Mil/LE and civilian markets.

Davinci is again correct. This person is very accurate. It was reported that the UDMC rifle also failed the SAF test several times. Initially they were introducing the LWRC rifle and then they copied and modified it. Even when they were still introducing the LWRC, it was already jamming until they copied it. LWRC has issues with US SOCOM as well. LWRC's rifles also failed somewhere in the United Arab Emirates.

The UDMC people have probably provided the NAVSOG with improved copies of the PVAR because according to TEAM UDMC, the PN FOIC has ordered the PVARs be deployed in Mindanao for extensive field testing:

  Sir Combat Diver:
We understand that the office of the FOIC has ordered that the PVAR’s be deployed in Mindanao (not sure what part) for actual field testing and evaluation in battle. This will be tested for several months. Yes sire, we do hope that it will pass this final ultimate test. In the meantime, we are pleased to inform you that the FOIC has recently accepted delivery of 11 units PDW PVARs (7.5 inch barrels) for his close-in security details to replace their old M16 babies and 9mm SMGs.
