The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said it is looking deeper into the death of a 34-year-old member of the Philippine Navy who was found with a gunshot wound inside his room in Camp Aguinaldo Monday night.

QCPD investigator SPO3 Ding Pasco identified the victim as Ltsg. Marvin Mariano, a native of Pampanga and currently staying at the Bachelor Officers Quarters Communications Electronics Installation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Junior Navy officer found dead inside his room

A junior Navy officer was found dead on Monday night inside his room in the military’s general headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City, the spokesperson of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said Tuesday.

Lt. Marvin Mariano of the Philippine Navy’s communication office was found dead with a gunshot wound inside his quarters on Monday night, Lt. Col. Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos said Tuesday.

Military deputy spokesperson Capt. Enrico Ileto meanwhile said that Mariano’s officemates were looking for him at past 8 p.m. Monday when they found his room locked.

The military men had to force open Mariano’s room, and later found the officer’s bloodied body inside the quarters, he added.

Investigators are not ruling out a possible suicide angle into Mariano’s death since there were no signs of attack of the Navy officer, Burgos said.

The military is currently conducting a parallel probe into the incident, the AFP spokesperson added. - ACC, RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV

They should look into the domestic, financial, and job affairs of the poor officer, It is highly probable that there are problems in these areas that made him snapped off, let alone his mental health if no suspicious circumstances can be established. I must hope that it is not in the area of his job where frustration lingers in his mind due to say... being let down due to being neglected of his ...overdue promotion or whatever in this area.
