Interesting participant to Survivor Philippines held in Palau.

Capt. Segovia is active PAF officer. Let's see how she fares in this Pinoy version of the popular reality survival show which starts tonight on GMA 7.

-----------
Maya

She says: “I’m a survivor in the truest sense. I survived all life’s challenges. I can accomplish anything inspite of all the personal problems I’m going through. I’m a mom, a military officer, a military pilot and a business woman. I can do multi-tasking and get the work done well.”

Captain Maya Segovia, a military officer and a pilot of the Philippine Air Force has always thought of herself as a man trapped in a woman’s body.

“Kahit na emotional pa rin ako bilang babae, kaya kong makipagsabayan sa mga lalaki,” the mother of two said.

Maya has been a pilot for seven years and she believes that it is her destiny to be a part of the profession ruled by men.

“Flying is really one of the things that make me happy,” she added.

Always competitive and physically active, Maya has been a mountaineer for 16 years and has also participated in triathlons.

She is also a taekwondo black-belter.

Despite all her credentials, Maya prepared herself for Survivor Philippines: Palau by studying people politics through reading books on psychology.

We’ll find out if this super mom would soar as a Castaway in Survivor Philippines: Palau.

What aircraft does she fly? I saw a T41 trainer at the background while she is being interviewed.....She might be a Training Pilot Instructor at the 100th Training Wing in Lipa.

Wonder what kind of boat they used in transporting them to the island...Boat no. 001.....

According to Hazegray, Boat 001 that brought the castaways to the island is a Pacific Forum class small patrol boat:

Displacement: 162 tons full load
Dimensions: 31.5 x 8.1 x 2.1 meters (103.3 x 26.6 x 6.9 feet)
Propulsion: 2 Caterpillar 3516TA diesels, 2820 hp, 2 shafts, 20 knots
Crew: 17
Armament: 2 12.7 mm MG

Australian built

Number: 001
Name: President H.I. Remelik
Year: 1996
Homeport: Koror

This class of boat was developed by Australia for small South Pacific island nations. Built by Tenix, the same shipbuilder that built the PCG's search and rescue vessels.

Palau boat 001 has the same configuration as our 35m SAR boats operated by our Coast Guard. I thought it was a PKM without a forward gun but when I look at the Tower Control its different from PKM boats.

Anyway, GOOD LUCK to Capt. Maya Segovia....sabi mas may ATTITUDE daw ang mga Castaways ngayon than the 1st batch.

I intend to follow each episode of Survivor Palau, it should be interesting to observe how Capt. Segovia interacts with the civilian participants, how she utilizes her military training and psyche in the challenges and dynamics of the contest to win the 3million top prize.

There's a rumor that Capt. Segovia had to go AWOL just to join SP2.

it is Troy the maniac who claimed that Maya is being bossy to him.

I guess this man is among the first to be voted out of SPP.

capt. segovia displayed grace under pressure when she and a teammate completed the puzzle challenge to win even though though the puzzle pieces were delivered late. :ssalute:

capt. segovia was voted out by her tribemates last night, first of her tribe to go - she was deemed aloof and uncooperative in tribe tasks.
