Those MRV's are actually classified as amphibious ships, not aircraft carriers even though they can still carry VTOL aircrafts like helicopters. I hope they name it after our 3 most progressive provinces of Manila, Cebu, and Davao. |

Don't panic everyone hehe! "just my two cents" if you know what I mean... In REALITY, I don't think will be seeing our own "Aircraft Carriers in our Lifetime", UK who's 5th in the World standings had to decommissioned one of it's two ACCs is proof how difficult and expensive they are to maintain... MRVs or maybe a "USS Tarawa" kind of Amphibious Assault Ships are the closest we can get from ACC's. Guaranteed :thumb: So I don't see any reason why we can't name the (3) MRVs Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao except for that PN's guide in naming PN Commissioned Ships, which on the "Aircraft Carriers" category is far from REALITY. This is just how i got this idea.....

i like this site better than timawa. , MBTs a few of them at least can be used in urban warfare (cities) you can retake a city easily with some MBTs with air support, the north vietnamese army used MBTs T-72s in conventional warfare during the Vietnam war, they also used MBTs when they invaded Cambodia to flush out the Kmer Rhouge and stop the genocide. |

Yes, perhaps a few, but urban bridges and flyovers are like 15-30 tons dead weight. Then, multiply it by 1.5-2% (got that from an engineer uncle) to get the moving weight. So basically, most modern MBTs can only cross Skyway as long as they don't stop. I guess that means MBTs can't cross the Pasig. |

Yes that's true, that is why some Highways, Bridges up North had been recently reconstructed heavily especially strategic areas, in case of future foreign invasion not an idea of PH but Big Brother...

Whose big brother are you referring to sir? Don't tell me you have plans in joining the next season of the Pinoy Big Brother? @ Caliber38, you should know that every modern armored force in this world has engineering units attached to them. They have bulldozers, bridging equipment and they can even lay down pontoon bridges in just a short time. In short, the Pasig river is not an obstacle. Modern Armored divisions are not a bus company that uses only paved roads and bridges. |

Yes I know, but the PA doesn't that have those kinds of equipment (at least not to my knowledge). Still, until the PA gets those equipment, they can't get modern MBTs. Well, if we can afford that equipment, I guess the PA can afford MBTs too, right? |

The Philippine Navy has Hedgehog depth charge projectors, depth charge projectiles (K-guns) and depth charge tracks that were removed from the Miguel Malvar-class corvettes in the late 1980s.
