I've been waiting for someone to start this thread.....

In this forum, we bashed and criticized the institution for producing the likes of Gen. Garcia ('71), Gen. Ligot ('70) and Gen de la Paz ('76) for alleged corruption while in the AFP and PNP. Some of us even advocated for the abolition of the Academy.

Now came Maj. Marcelino ('94) who allegedly refused to accept a bribe worth Php 20 million, a Marine Major whose ancestral home looks like a squatter's house, a person who lost his sister because he doesn't have Php 80, 000 for her operation.

This people came from the same institution, can we make a generalization?

maj. marcelino is maybe incorruptible but he did commit technical errors in the arrest of the alabang boys which the doj corrupt prosecutors exploited as grounds for its dismissal of the case in lieu of monetary considerations.

ah nice to be in another forum.lots of reading to catch up. but anyway, a lot of praises to maj. marcelino in another forum (almost the same name as this one).

to maj. marcelino, prestige (maybe) won't feed your family. but, it will make you and your family proud and happy in the years to come. unlike corruption, it will only bring you and your next generation bad luck and misery for a hundred years.

stay humble and stand up always to the ideals of the noble profession that we pledged to serve! :armycheers: :patrioticpinoy:

there might be some technicalities in the arrest, however it can be discussed in another thread/forum. what i'm trying to drive at is the contrast among graduates of the Philippine Military Academy, that we can not blame the institution for the kind of people they produce.

PEACE

the REAL cream of the CROP of the Philippine Military Academy.

Being the baron doesnt confirm one as being the best. One's achievement in the line of service does.
