And of course, this is just a tele-serye, we can't expect everything to be 100% accurate, some are for cinematic license.

Speaking of inconsistencies, Jake Cuenca is supposed to be assigned in Basilan, yet the insignia of his soldiers is that of the 2ID, PA based in Tanay, Rizal operating in eastern part of Luzon down to the Bicol Region. 1ID is the one operating in Basilan.

Another thing I noticed is Jake Cuenca is wearing a SOCOM patch on his left shoulder and the PA patch on the right, not sure if this is possible.

nice to know that in this TV show, our pilots are multi-taskers :thumb:

Watched the show just now as not a fan of such - only did after reading this thread. I noticed that one of the guys is wearing a flight suit yet is assigned to a ground combat role. Makes me think. Why spend so much on a cadet to be a pilot then assign him to a task that he isn't trained for and where the chances of losing him before he can make best use of his expensive training to help the AFP. Anong logic doon? Okay sana kung SpecOps as those multi-task naman from what I know.

The show could highlight instead the need of our AFP and even be a major PR help para maging close muli ang masa sa AFP.

With the way the show is played out ay ang babaw. Yun action scenes are lousy.

Tapos yun patches masyadong bright. Hindi ba pag sa field missions dapat yun subdued color na or don't we have those yet? Sobrang bago pa yun flight suit.
Command is about authority, about appointment to a position. Effective leadership is different. It must be learned and practiced in order for it to rise to the level of art. You must love those you lead before you can be an effective leader. You can certainly command without that sense of commitment but you cannot lead without it; and without leadership, command is a hollow experience. .. a vacuum often filled with mistrust and ignorance.

Totoy Bato, the Robin Padilla starrer at the rival network, has far more accurate depictions of gunbattles and military tactics.

I think this teleserye is badly advised.

Mas okay yun Totoy Bato but yun nakita ko bitbit niya yun M60 dami niya pang belt sa katawan tapos sobrang iksi yun starter belt niya. When he used the starter belt ang dami niyang napatay when it looks mga 30 or so lang yun bala sa belt.

Still, I like his garb na bandido look. Very orig. No flashy guns but the common ones lang.

Hindi ko nasusundan rin yun show much but would be nice to know anong nangyari doon sa pinapunta sa president to tell their problem.

Comment ko lang on the height requirement and tira sa mga short people. Napoleon! Its not the height but the intelligence and cunning ang key sa pagiging effective leader (well, na-corrupt siya later by power and such).

And tama, mas ideal ang short sa firefight as less target area and easier to find cover.

DND chief appears in TV soap opera

MANILA, Philippines - Defense Secretary and presidential aspirant Gilbert Teodoro appeared last night in ABS-CBN’s top-rating soap opera “Tayong Dalawa,” playing himself.

But Bong Osorio, ABS-CBN’s vice president for corporate communications, was quick to clarify that Teodoro’s guesting had no connection with his bid for the presidency and the show’s producers just wanted to make the episode as accurate and realistic as possible, even if the plot is fictional.

“We just wanted it to be accurate,” he said, noting that reports of Teodoro’s plan to run for president in the 2010 elections came out only this month.

In last night’s episode, Teodoro plays the role of a defense secretary awarding the medal of valor posthumously to David Garcia Jr., a military officer played by actor Jake Cuenca who was slain while rescuing a foreign diplomat kidnapped by bandits in Basilan.

In the scene, Teodoro hands the medal to the soldier’s half brother, another officer played by young actor Gerald Anderson, who is also named David Garcia Jr.

But the defense chief’s first foray into show business was brief, about one minute and forty seconds and he only utters one line: “Congratulations and more power,” which he tells Garcia (Anderson).

Osorio explained that in a previous episode, the superintendent of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) appeared as himself in a graduation scene in the academy with the two half-brothers.

He said the military was grateful to the show for helping them improve their image and that of the PMA.

Osorio said Teodoro and other real military officials’ appearance “helped refine the story to make it accurate.”

Armed Forces officials consulted for the teleserye made sure everything was accurate, from the use of equipment and uniforms to the demeanor of the actors, he noted.

Teodoro’s chief of staff, Assistant Secretary Nelson Victorino, said the shooting took place last Feb. 27 and needed a second take when Anderson made the mistake of extending his hand ahead of Teodoro after the latter acknowledged his salute.

The real officers wanted it done correctly and Teodoro obliged for a second take, Victorino said.
