The FF-21 Frigate is one of the ships being offered for sale to the Philippine Navy. It comes in several lengths including 85 meter, 125 meter and 150 meter versions.
For the years 2000 to 2010, plans include purchases of thirty-three(33) more missile patrol craft(FACs), nine more OPVs, two(2) more MCMVs, four(4)more SARs, four(4) Amphibious Transport ships, four(4) more guided missile corvettes, and three(3) guided missile frigates.

The ship purchases are made possible even though the budget is small because most of the ships will be built in the Philippines using domestic navy shipyards and low cost labor (including naval personnel), along with technology transfers.

yes boybim is correct that is old news already. Actually i am the owner of that website ---> http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Barracks/7248/navy5.htm ,but the last time I updated that website was back in 2001/2002 and since then I forgot the website password plus i really dont have time to update the site. This website also has a mirror site at tripod that I also own, but same thing i forgot the password na. BTW, my website is the oldest philippine military website that i know of .I had this website up and running as far back as 1994 .The only other guy who can dispute my assertion is a retired army officer, Col. L___ from Cebu detailed with the PMA who had an unofficial site of the PMA back in the mid 1990s too. Through my website several young filipinos emailed me questions about the PN back in the 1990s and early 2000s and later on they emailed me that they joined the navy.Yes, they are with the PN now.

Well, it doesn't matter if the site is old or new.
What attracts me more is, even we have a small budget we can build warships w/ technoly from other countries and will be built here in the philippines w/ full technology transfer.

That is correct!

Actually, we have the money.

It's just that the govt is wasting it through projects where they can get the biggest kicbacks.

By the way, all assets smaller than the Andrada-class PCFs should be given to the Coast Guard.

They need it more for maritime law enforcement and related tasks.

The Navy should concentrate on anti-terrorism, anti-smuggling, anti-piracy, EEZ protection aside from their main job of thwarting external aggression.

The money saved can be used to fund more urgent matters like ship repair or facility maintenance and for purchasing newer assets.

There is a corruption theory in the Navy's desire to keep these smaller assets instead of giving these to the Coast Guard.

They dont want to give it because the lesser number of ships being maintained will reflect into a lesser budget allocation.

Greedy pigs in the Navy know this ploy. :nono:

But for the Navy and DND hierarchy, it will be best to let the small ships be given to the Coast Guards to help them improve their enforcement of maritime laws.

This will also lessen the chances of the Navy personnel getting involved in corruption.

I suggest that all ships smaller than 25 meters must all be given to the Coast Guards or the "Bantay-Dagat" or Maritime Police.

we may i say some points but first we have both for the Navy and cost guard well let me point it out this way first same same, same equipment (well almost expect weapons maybe) engines etc same cost of parts, since the Philippines need equipments that are almost the same or uses the same parts to function forte kasi natin yun and second money its cheap.

Commonality on parts isnt the only concern.

We have to be sure that the machine can really fulfill its mission or meet the requirements.
