So big of a territory. Can you imagine the trouble the IN has in patrolling their waters? Imagine the Philippines? =X

We should stop unleashing irritating posts at each other.

Singapore's military is a force to reckoned with, no matter how small they are.

Nonetheless, our Singaporean friends should be blamed here also because they were the ones who started the practice of insulting neighbors (us, to be precise) here anyway.

Now it has backfired on them.

The way our Indonesian friend treats them is a manifestation of the negative effects of doing your neighbor harm.

We should all learn from this and start making this forum beneficial for all of us.

Let's all foster a warm and harmonious relationship amongst us all.

We are all members of ASEAN anyway. :exactly:

I think refurbishing is good but replacements are far better. Yes, you can refurbish old ships like our OPV's, but they are still a sitting duck againt a surprise attack by enemy crafts more than 10 times lesser their size and are armed with SSMs.

Looks like someone decided to scan the Philippine route network page off PAL's Mabuhay Magazine. :armywink:

Any pix of these said ships?
Command is about authority, about appointment to a position. Effective leadership is different. It must be learned and practiced in order for it to rise to the level of art. You must love those you lead before you can be an effective leader. You can certainly command without that sense of commitment but you cannot lead without it; and without leadership, command is a hollow experience. .. a vacuum often filled with mistrust and ignorance.

Even our biggest ship, or simply just like the BRP Quezon (PS70) can be laid to rest in the deep by a mere small gunboat.

In fact, that single modern gunboat can sink all of our ships. :dunno:

I cant understand how our top-decision makers are seeing how things should be for our Navy. :dontgetit:

I think the re-commissioning of the old PN ships is not a good choice.it shows how the navy is affected of the corruption in the government. why are we risking the life of our sailor in a vintage ship.It doesnt make sense at all. We can only modernize some part of the ship but the hull? how can it be? it was built 60 yrs ago. even maintaince cannot take assure the effectiveness of the ship in the battle. 1 corvette from other country's can blow up those four ship's. there it goes our 48 million pesos and the life of our dear sailors. i think we must push thru with our own version of patrol ship. Lay it down in Tsuneishi (Balamban,Cebu)or Keppel(Batangas and Cebu). Im sure technology transfer can be assured by the government. I want you to take a look the site of the said ship yard in the southern philippines.take note that this ship yard (tsuneishi) laid down a new british military ship and made an test manuever in the coastal waters of cebu.i was in cebu guys and i saw capabilities of those ship yards. take note also that superferry ships are restored,re-model, and repaired in keppel cebu.i saw the superferry 16,17,18 in there company yard before it was made operational. take note guys if are in cebu keppel and the new navy port is beside the shipyard location. ask the locals there. they know it. so we made make it with our own work force, ideas, and with the aid of the technology transfer from foreign government will help our navy from recycling old ship which are not worthy for the operation and defense activity.
